I am planning on taking my kettle to Disney cause I have to have my tetley tea before I function in the morning. Anyone ever taken one??? Will I have any problem with Airport security??? I spoke to the ressie lady at SW and she said put it in your checked luggage not carry on and you should have no problem but just thought I would ask here also.

Thanks

Just laughing here Hockeychic. Your user name indicates that you MIGHT be Canadian, but your question about an electric kettle absolutely confirms it. Every Canadian household has one, but they're almost unheard of in many parts of the US. I can't imagine you'd have any trouble in checked baggage, though. Sorry I can't really help, I'm just chuckling about one of those Canadian things. :D

Interesting I did not know that. I could not live without my tetley tea so I wanted to bring my kettle, I have taken it everywhere berfore but have never flown with it....lol

Thanks

If you have a coffee maker in your room you really won't need it. Just bring a little bit of *white* vinegar with you in one of those little travel bottles that you buy for shampoo. When you first arrive at your hotel, run a pot of water with about a tablespoon of vinegar in it through the coffeemaker's cycle; that should flush out the coffee taste. Run a second water-only pot after that to thoroughly clear out the vinegar, and then from there out you can use the hot water from the coffeepot to make tea. It is very quick. We have LOTS of tea-drinkers in my family; this always works like a charm for them. They just make it a practice to always carry a little bottle of white vinegar in their toiletries bag.

BTW, Orlando tap water is heavily chlorinated and does not taste especially good. If you have a car or grocery stop, you might want to get a gallon jug of distilled water to use for making tea.

Of course, if you have a coffee-drinker in the family who will be using the coffeemaker, then it's back to the kettle plan. If will not cause security issues if it is in your checked baggage.

I've brought my electric hot pot many times. Just put it in the checked luggage. We don't usually stay where there's a coffee pot, so DH just uses my hot water for those instant coffee bags!
