Looking for reviews for Harris Ranch restuarant off of I5. We are considering breakfast there on our way down. Also, are you able to forward me a menu by any chance?? For some reason, my computer will not let me open their menu pages. Either by personal emial or PM would be fine.

TIA!!

I went there on the way back home from DL last year for dinner, not breakfast. It had pretty good food if you're into meats (well it is a ranch, duh), but the outside STANK! (well it is a ranch, duh ;) ) Another thing we noticed was that it had pretty slow service, so if you're looking for a quick meal, you might want to look somewhere else.

Yes, I've stopped there - one of the best pot roasts I've ever had. A little pricey as I remember, but very very good. I figure it's got to be fresh with the stockyards just north. I don't remember any smell at the restaurant, but it's hard to miss when you're driving past the stockyards on I-5.

Harris Ranch in Coalinger is where the high quality Harris beef is raised. The food is very good.

It does smell, as one poster stated, it is a cattle ranch.

Service is slow! Probably the best resturant along the I-5 on the route from NCAL to SoCAL

It's been a sort of tradition of ours to stop by Harris Ranch for breakfast on our way down to DL... and stop for dinner on our way back home from DL. However, after our recent visit... that tradition will be changing.

The meals there used to be phenominal. However, on our recent trip (8/10 - 8/15) we were so disappointed in the breakfast that we skipped the dinner trip! We pulled into the parking lot, on our way down, on a Sunday morning right around 9am. We were seated within minutes... the service was mediocre... and somewhat slow. We had a party of 5 (3 adults and 2 kids). And not a single one of us enjoyed our meal. The portions were small (and every other time we remember, they were HUGE). The eggs were undercooked (think runny scrambled eggs)... the pastries were all overcooked (think CRUNCHY french toast)... and the potatoes were still crunchy.

Maybe it was just a bad day.... but either way.... we won't be stopping by Harris Ranch again for a while!

I've never stopped there but boy do we smell it! :lmao:

Since I was a kid, has always ben known as "Stinky Cow Town." :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Now that's how DH knows it! :rotfl2:

We've never stopped for food, only at the gas station. Never smelled appetizing.

Thank you for that review. I just talked to a my fellow CM, she said that they have the best corn beef and hash for breakfast. But I dont know how long ago she was there last.

What are their prices comparable to?? Dennys? Carnation Cafe? Goofys Kitchen? Blue Bayou?

TIA!!

Thanks for the link. But as my original post stated, my computer is not opening those files right now, so I am unable to still see prices and menu. Thanks though!!

It stinks over there! Too many livestock.

The food isn't that great and they charge you an arm and a leg!

I've never stopped there.... I always drive past it coming from San Jose.... but old coworkers of mine have told me its GREAT! And when I use to work at the Disney Store guest always said they liked to stop there on their way.

I was able to open the menu and it looks like breakfast prices range around $10 - some were less and some were up to $12 - $14.

I've driven by there so many times but have never stopped. I'm not sure i could eat with that smell haha. Let us know how it is if you do stop.

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM Harris Ranch.....mmmmmmmmmmmmmm sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good!!!! I love me a good steak, and my favorite brand is Harris Ranch so I was very excited to stop and eat there. Sure, it smells but hello, it's a Ranch people, it's supposed to smell. lol The meat is very fresh and very tasty!! We stopped for lunch, DBF and I both had steak sandwiches and they were both so good. I had the French Dip and thought I was in heaven. DD12 had the kids steak and she loved it, even DD8 who isn't a big steak gal had some and loved it. We will definitely go back!!!!! Sure, it's pricey but it wasn't any worse than Cattleman's and the food was much better. We had great service, not too fast, not too slow. When we got seated our server took our drink order and we mentioned we were driving to DL, he gave us great service, so we gave him a great tip. If you like steak you will like Harris Ranch. :)

I just recognize the smell as we pass by the area on our way to or from LA.
:-)

This reminds me of a story that DH told of the time his family moved from Phoenix to CA. They drove up to Turlock to stay with his grandparents for a while and on the way passed the Foster Farms ranch. Their cat was in the car, and had, up until this time spent the entire time under the seat. When they came up to Foster Farms, in one fell swoop, kitty came out from under the seat and pressed his nose up to the window. It's dinnertime!

Growing up, my family would always stop there for dinner on the way home from Disneyland. I loved going there as a kid. I don't know what happened over the years, but I went last year and the service was horrible. The food wasn't all that great, and there was a hair in my salad. :sad2:

I'm not too eager to ever go back there.

My family loves Cattlemans!!! We do a couple of the adult birthday dinners there. My aunt drives down from Sac, and we drive up from Pinole and eat there!! It was one of my grandparents favorites when they lived in Suisun!!
