We booked a rental house here for our upcoming trip and just wondered if anyone else had ever stayed in this rental community and how you liked it.

This is the first community we stay in when renting a home.

We found it close to the parks, near to restaurants and the short cut to Disney property.

Loved it so much we bought in the FGA.

You will not go wrong in this area.

Great! That's what I was hoping to hear. :)
I looked at so many before choosing this area and was just hoping I chose right. This will be our first off-site place.

Agree totally, homes are a little more modest than some of the big rental only communities but a great neighborhood and easy access to Disney just up Old Lake Wilson Road to 192 and right to the Disney Entrance about 2 miles...

enjoy...Ted

Modest is fine with us! We were looking for something with more room than a hotel so that the kids could nap and go to bed without my husband and I having to sit around in the dark! Great bonus of our own pool, hot tub and kitchen as well!

Glad to have you confirm the easy access as well. That was our other main goal. This community seemed very close without the big prices of some of the higher priced resort rental homes in the same vicinity. We were hoping we didn't go wrong by choosing something a little less fancy.

Hi, of course each home is furnished differently, but no matter what it will be so much nicer than a hotel room and you will love the pool just outside the back doors. Also, can't beat your own bath off the master bedroom for privacy.

We stayed for 3 months in Jan, Feb, and March in Indian Ridge (right next door)3 of the last four winters so we know the area very well. If you have any other questions, let us know.

Hmmmm.....:)
Well, as long as you're asking...
Nearby grocery store and restaurants you could recommend? We plan to cook our own breakfasts and make our own packed lunches, but eat out for dinners or get a take-out pizza. Thanks!

Well, let's see...
Grocery...I really like the Publix about two miles south on Old Lake Wilson plus you get to drive by Reunion which is the billion dollar Ginn community with 3 golf courses and it all looks like about 1940-1960 homes. Ginn went bankrupt but hard to tell from the looks of this place!!
Go past Reunion and the Publix will appear right in front of you...also a CVS drug store on the corner. I have heard that a brand new Target on 192 about 2 miles west of Old Lake Wilson is nice also. But the drive to Publix is cool!!

Great take out pizza. Hard to beat Giordono's in the Marketplace shopping center about 5 minutes from your home on Formosa Garden's Blvd. When you leave Indian Ridge Oaks on to Sand Hill Road turn RIGHT (you will turn left to get to Old Lake Wilson and Disney). Go a little ways and turn right on Formosa Gardens Blvd. Take it all way to a shopping center on your left just before hwy 192. Giordono's and a bunch of other stores are in there. The big supermarket is OK but very very expensive, so use it only for emergency stuff and use Publix for most groceries.

Good Places to eat...my first rule is NO chain restaurants...you can do those at home! Well, other than Golden Corral Buffet, which is excellent. It is on 192 between Old Lake Wilson and Formosa Gardens...so take the above directions past Marketplace to 192,turn right and it is on your right in a block or so.
Several fun places to eat for a good price...(dinner $10-15) or more expensive if you do Steaks.
The Town Tavern in down town Celebration...(best Onion rings ever) Get to 192 via Old Lake Wilson...turn right, go about 4 miles to big entrance to Celebration (will have a big sign to get to Airport via toll 417.) Follow the signs to Downtown or Town Center and park and enjoy the downtown. Fun walking around...If you have an extra 45 minutes, just drive all over and check out the homes, especially over by the golf course...these are all a million and up homes with picture perfect lawns and decor.
The PUB...great British restaurant with super fish and chips, Shepherd's Pie and other British Fare along with full American. Kind of a family sports bar.
About a 10 minute drive...Exit Ind Ridge Oaks and turn right. Turn LEFT on Formosa gardens blvd and go about 1/4 mile to a stop light on
Sinclair, turn right and quickly turn left to get on 429 toll way for 50 cents. It will quickly exit onto I-4 WEST to Tampa...take I-4 a couple of miles to 27 South...Go south about a mile and look for a big green restaurant on the right...The PUB! To get home take I-4 east to toll 429 north...go a very short distance to SINCLAIR exit, pay 50 cents to get off and go STRAIGHT at the light. You will soon come to Sand Hill...turn right and Indian Ridge Oaks is just a short drive.

Beef O"Brady's family sports bar...'Go to the Pubix except go right on by on Old Lake Wilson another mile or so to T-intersection and turn right on Ronald Reagan...go about 2-3 miles to Highway 27. Turn Right on 27 and Beef's is almost immediately on your right. Great fish sandwich and wraps...

Hope that helps for starters
