Anyone ever stay at Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun resorts?

DH and I are looking for a little getaway without the kids this summer--maybe one or 2 nights. I looked at their websites and the prices are a little too high. Does anyone know if there are ever any discounts at these resorts available? TIA.

We stayed at the Two Trees Inn at Foxwoods. It wasnt the Ritz,but we were very happy there. With a AAA discount it wasnt too bad.

I've stayed at Mohegan, and we couldn't find discounts unless you have some comps from the casino. Take a look around at some of the other hotels in the area, unless you have to stay at the casino; there are some nice ones going down towards Mystic.

I've gotten emails from Foxwoods with discounted room rates...but I think it was only during off season.

Sign up on their website - you never know.

Usually the discounted $79.00 a night rooms are for stays Monday - thursday only, I get the mailings for Mohegan.

I have stayed at both properties and I prefer the Mohegan, it's beautiful and their rooms are very spacious, the bathrooms are gorgeous in the rooms too.

As Camcolt said, Two Trees Inn is an option for much less and with AAA you can get a good deal. It's not part of the casino, but a shuttle does run back and forth.

And if the weather is nice its a short walk. We found we preferred walking than waiting for the shuttle.
