Anyone ever skipped an ADR to ride first?

A little opposite situation but along the lines of this thread: When we were in January to BOG for dinner reservations (I think 4:50ish), a couple came in and told the cm that their reservation was maybe an hour or two away (can't remember) and wondered if they could get in earlier. The cm said sure and took their name. Granted, I have no idea if they were seated promptly, or what their wait was.

My opinion is that they are flexible.

Hmm, for some reason I thought Disney Jr. lunch was a sitdown. Of course even QS do have limits to capacity, if not why would BOG need ADRs at all?

I think they make you get the ADR's at BOG, to space people out. Most people don't realize that everyone who has an ADR before 9am can actually get in and eat almost a full hour early.

I'm not sure what you mean about Disney Jr. lunch though.

Given that it's a QS for lunch, they'd probably just cram you in there anyway. I have a feeling they don't worry so much about people showing up on time for the QS meals.

This....

I am always prompt for my reservations at any restaurant (or call if I hit traffic or some other unexpected delay). However, this is a quick service place. No one is getting held up because I am 10 minutes late here. The only delay people are experiencing at BOG is if they did not pre order and then have to wait on the line to order at the kiosks. Me being late has no effect on that. This place is huge and at least last week had tons of empty tables to choose from.

Also I thought I read that you can show up early for your BOG time and they just tell you to go in. As long as you are on their list it didn't seem to be a problem. So you would be actually "freeing up space" if you arrived early maybe!

I am not advocating being intentionally hours late for a reservation. I think they are just glad you are there and spending money (way more than the $10 cancellation fee!) so I can't see them turning you away especially when it is not reserved seating.

I also would not want something I did to negatively impact another person's experience but as I said I can't see how even 10 parties being late would hold anyone else up down the pike, other than as I said, maybe making the non preorder line longer.

That was the post I originally responded to, someone who was upset about waiting an hour for their Disney Jr. lunch reservation. You made the assumption about QS and BOG.

I agree. I know plenty of people who go in at 8am who really have an 8:30am ADR. Late people in the morning probably actually help to even the people out at BOG first thing in the morning.

They let us on 7DMT at 8:40. You could get there around then, ride the mine train and get to your ADR in time for your res.

So the key here is securing an ADR before park open.

Oh man, this is going to be great. I'll eat at 8:15 then wait by the little red ropes for the OK to ride 7DMT. Then, me and the fam will do it again and again and again. Muahahahah!!

Thanks for the tips, everyone. Good stuff. The purpose of forums has been achieved!

That's probably true! Maybe that is why it was not so crowded after 9am, everyone came earlier?

And I also agree that it was much nicer to ride BEFORE eating! That is my family's problem with paying for big breakfasts on park days. If we all eat say at a buffet or something, everyone is too full to start running around the park and going on rides haha!

Just don't count on doing multiple rides... i got 1 before RD crowd arrived (Line was huge when I got off)

My family and i have gotten the earliest dinning possible, eaten fast and tried to get back into the park before opening. It might be hard to rush younger kids along but with older ones it is very worth it.
