Anyone ever rent from these people at WH?

I like the theming of their kids' bedrooms. I *did* have it narrowed down to one other one, then I found this one. This is driving me nuts trying to decide. I am nervous because I have never done this before.

While I have never rented form anyone I can say I know exactly how you feel. I went through this whole process in May. What I did was I narrowed down my choices to 4 homes. Then I contacted each owner by e-mail. I corresponded with each one several times with alot of questions. I then was able to get a little feel for them this way. One owner never responded to my questions after providing a quote. I then took my top two choices and asked for their phone number so I could have a personal phone call with them. I spoke with each owner and I must say I ended up with my second choice home, due to the owner being so nice and so willing to provide alot of information. She also gave me a quote for a one week stay not realizing that we were actually staying for 9 nights, not seven. She said that it was her mistake and she would honor her first quote. So, we got two nights free!! Owner #1 (WH home) seemed a little irritated with my questions and anxious to end the call. He actually told me he had a friend interested in renting the home that same week so if I want to rent it I need to do it now. I LOVED his home so I emailed him and said I'll take it. TWICE! He did not respond for over a week. By then I had already rented the other home. I checked his availibility calander and it is still open for that week. HA! I am now staying in Formosa Gardens instead of WH. I really did like his home better, but I am sooo glad to be renting from this person. It is a very beautiful home with a 30 x 17 pool. It really was a win win situation for us. I just talked to her again last week and she could not be any nicer or more eager to answer questions. We leave in 45 days and I am not the least bit worried. Good Luck!

The emails I have been receiving are coming from Deeksha Nagamala (?). I can't tell if this is a rental "company" of if they are the direct owners.

yes that's it the owner has about 4 places he was very nice to speak to and his MC came right out and he was very nice also that was in march 07

We booked with these people several months ago for our trip in October and a month or so ago, they just sent an email saying the owners decided to stay there during the time we had booked and we would have to make other arrangements. I was very upset because I had done extensive research and was really excited about this place because of all of the cute rooms for kids. At the time I booked, all four of their homes were open for our dates and then we were left with slim pickings to find a replacement. It is unlikely this would happen to you, but I do not recommend them because of this! Good luck!

Thanks for the replies. I was feeling a little bit uneasy about them. No one thing in particular, I just get an uneasy feeling about them, even though I like their homes better than the one I was originally considering.

I think I will stick with the one I was going to go with before. The lady I was emailing back and forth with was really friendly and helpful, and really seemed to go out of her way for me. I will go with my gut on this one:

wow I wouldn't rent from them if they just decide to go on vacation and cancel someones trip. they should be reported to the BBB I wrote to the owner I dealt with and never heard back so i won't ever rent from them

With so many fine resorts in the Orlando area, I wouldn't trust my vacation to a home place like this. I've rented a condo from one of the bigger names, and would do it again, if I wanted a more home like environment. The condo's have everything I'd want anyhow - full kitchen, pool, even maid service. No way am I bringing sheets to Orlando.

But I'm more of an onsite gal anyhow.

Just catching up on this thread and I must say that it is awful that an owner cancelled someones vacation just because they decided they wanted it I assure you not all owners act in this way - many, like us, just wouldn't even consider it an option.

Beth - by the sounds of it you should stick to the other owner you are more comfortable with.

That's not cool! Did they have you sign a rental agreement? Typically it's a 2 way contract basically, it guarantees the rental to you, assuming you've fulfilled their conditions, and protects the owner, it's a 2 way street! I hate hearing stories like this, gives everyone in the short term rental market a bad name, sorry this happened to you.

Yes, we printed and signed a rental agreement that we had to mail to England. We had remembered reading in their terms that they said they might cancel the booking and that they would refund our money if they did. We just never thought that would actually happen to us! No, it was not cool! We learned our lesson! We did re-book at Windsor Hills with some nice people, we just won't get all of the cute Mickey decorations that I wanted!

Some of the rental contracts are unreal. I have seen that before as well. This is why it is very important to read them carefully before signing.

If there is something you don't like, you can try negotiating with the owner to amend it.

I checked their site and it bothered me that their website was written towards kids and at the bottom it said ...... "HURRY – TELL MOMMY AND DADDY TO BOOK NOW! Or you might run out of slots." Whatever. Their site makes me wonder about them as well, can't really place why??? We are using Florida Sun Vacation Homes and I have been very pleased with their service so far and have spoke to multiple people who have used them and were very happy with them

Yeah, that struck me as a little odd too. Like my 5 year old is surfing the net looking for a vacation home for us I'm sure they think it is "cute" marketing.

I agree she has been very nice and helpful. It put my mind at ease that they have a clear, well worded rental agreement and took a credit card for payment. Their rates are pretty cheap and they live really close to us. My husband was comforted that if anything went wrong we could go right over to their house when we get back - lol!

Excellent, please do let me know. I went ahead and reserved our dates and paid our down payment. She has been so nice, and even emailed me a bunch more pictures when I asked. Enjoy your trip!
