I am entitled to four credits on SWA through Marriott Rewards.

Anyone ever redeemed these points towards credits? I'm trying to scrounge some tickets for our August trip to Tampa :teeth: , and I was wondering how long the process takes.

I called Marriott Rewards and they're closed on Sunday.

Thanks for your help.

do u mean awards or credits...

4 credits would be 1/4 of the way to a free award ticket on SWA since you need 16 credits to get one

I'm 3.5 credits shy of a ticket.

I also downloaded ding so I believe thats 2 credits.

they will post your 2 ding credits after you have had the DING on your computer and actively used it for 30 days ( active meaning kept it there i think )

Hopefully I downloaded it correctly, I havent had a ding in two weeks.

When I put my mouse over the icon on my desktop, it says communication error has occured. The box still pops up when I click on it, so hopefully it's working okay?

Hi, we didn't transfer Marriott points but we did transger Amex points. The transfer took only overnight but when we called SWA they told us the points don't automatically turn into a rewards ticket, it takes 3-5 business days for it to "go through the system". We transferred Thursday evening, and we had out points in the SW rewards accout on Friday and the rewards ticket by Saturday evening. We were expecting it to take longer since it was a weekend. We are going in three weeks so we were anxious that the 11:00 am flight we wanted to try for would be gone, it wasn't!

Bottom line is that it doens't take too long to switch points over, just to make the points into a rewards ticket. Hope that makes sense...

That does make sense, thank you.

I noticed on the website that it takes six weeks to transfer points to aa frequent flier program. I'm scared to death it will take that long to transfer to swa and that would be cutting it really close. :sad2:

Mommyx2, 6 weeks! That seems waaayyy too long. I know each airline is different but give me a break. Also, when we called SWA to make our reservations we were going to use our 32 credits for two RT tickets, and pay for the other two tickets. We happened to get a great agent and she said, don't do that, use the 32 credits for 4 one ways at the highest rate (that's all that were available on our departure date) and pay for the return flight which had the cheapest seats available. I didn't even think of doing that. She was great and saved us about $150.00. We are going to end up going to WDW on SWA and returning on Airtran and paying a total of about 420 for four of us and this is with only 3 weeks preplanning soooo... we thought quite a good deal. We are returning on Airtran because we can get an 8:45 pm flight back on our departure day vs. a 9:00 am flight on SWA (to get the cheaper seats). Hope any of this helps. Good luck!

I guess I need to get my tag line to list all of my WDW trips right?

Still a newbie!

Okay, I just talked marriott rewards and they said it takes two weeks to get the credits deposited into my rapid rewards account. Not too bad.

For 15.00 I can get it expressed and it takes three days to deposit. It may be worth it to just get it done, so I dont worry (which I do alot of).

Anyway, that's the deal!

Thanks for your input. :wave2:
