Anyone ever NOT get their Longhouse at the Poly

Just wondering, for those that have requested a particular longhouse at the Polynesian - Have you ever not gotten your request?

I'm requesting tahiti. We'll be going in May which is before it becomes concierge. So I'm hoping to get it.

We have always gotten our room requests at the Poly.

We requested Fiji and the day before we were going I found out Fiji was closed. Instead we were given Samoa, which bothered me at first because I knew it was a smoking building. The room(and the building) didnt have a hint of smoke and the view was awesome! I was so glad we ended up there.

Both times we made a request for tokelau and got it. The second time We made a room request and also got it.

The first year I requested Tokelau or Rarotonga, but got Aoteora. We really liked it though so no big deal. The next year, we requested a balcony in Fiji or Aoteora, they gave us Rarotonga second floor. No longer being a newbie, this time I spoke up and said we would really like a balcony so they gave us a beautiful third floor balcony room with pool view in Tokelau. We loved it I think if you get something you don't want at all at check-in and if you are nice about it they will try to accomodate you. We made our requests at time of reservation and the first year I faxed in a request prior to arrival. I guess we just don't have good luck.

When we visited the Poly in November, we requested the Tahiti building. We were assigned to Tokelau. We loved it! From the balconey, if you looked to the right, you could see the GF and Cinderella's castle. If you looked to the left, you could see the quiet pool. It was wonderful. We couldn't have been happier.

In Dec the Poly was sold out and we didn't get any of our requests -- so we moved after one night and got a great room. The wonderful CM at front desk told us that the Tokelau & Tahiti buildings are the most popular, so they go first. If longhouse choice is important to you (as it is to us) you will want to be willing to move if you can't get your 1st choice at check in -- and check in early!
