Anyone ever hear of Cooking Club of America?

I received an offer in the mail that seems to good to be true so I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this company.

Cooking Club of America--supposedly they send you cooking products to test out such as bread makers, free utensils, free spices and you get to keep them as long as you fill out a survey.

They also give $100s in coupons for groceries, a cooking magazine, free giveaways...

All for $1/mth.

See why I am a little suspicious? Nothing in the literature they sent had any fine print ( i looked!), so what's the deal with this company?

they have been around for years, but I have never sent the information back to join. I have noticed that sometimes infomercials will say that the item is endorsed by the Cooking Club of America.

I've heard of them, but only because they are a link from sunshinerewards, and you can get credit with SR for signing up through them. I've signed up, and we'll see what happens.

I believe it is like the Handyman Club of America. I checked out both webpages and they are almost identicle. I have been a member of the Handyman Club of America for a couple years. Very good magazine, monthly contest and you do get to field test items. You fill out a field test member profile and when your name comes up you get to test the product and keep it. I have got some inexpensive items like tape and woodworking products. The last item I got just last month was a table for my compound miter saw worth $299. Overall a very good organization.

I was a member for about 3 years. It is a really good magazine, and I got a couple of free gifts. I believe it was recipe cards, address labels, and a mini grater which did not work. I was picked to test a product 1 time out of the 3 years, and it was a packet of dry seasoning. It may be different now, but if it is not I would not expect all the free products, testers etc. They just did not come to me. I thought the magazine was great though and it was worth it for the tips and recipes. I kept getting things to become a lifetime member for 300 or so dollars and they would send out free pots and pans. I just let my subscription go.

I was a member about 5 years ago. The magazine is great. I still use them to reference some of my favorite recipes. Like the pp, I received a few incentive gifts(scrapers, garlic peeler, etc), but I was never picked to test any products. But, I only had the subscription for about a year. So, for the magazine alone, it is worth the money.

NEVER ONCE did I get a product to test. Never! Got some recipe cards and it was a nice magainze, but I didn't ever test a thing.

I was a member when they first came out, and I recieved a few products to test out, as well as some gifts. The highest priced item I ever recieved to test was a small wok, comparable in stores was about $50.
I think it's worth it for the magazine and recipes alone. I still use my cards pretty frequently.
