We just bought a house and sad to say we have to cancel our trip on July. I just called WDW Travel to cancel and she said it would take two months to get my refund...
That seems like a real long time.....anyone ever cancel using a credit/debit card? How long was it before you saw a refund??

Congratulations on the house!!!

Many of us have had to cancel our trips at one time or another. I've never heard of it actually "taking" 2 months to get a refund. They usually state that it "may take up to 2 billing cycles". WDW Travel will put the credit through immediately for you - it's just a matter of how long it takes to go back through your credit card company.

What what is "two billing cycles"? She told me they had to do the paper work and it would be "two billing cycles" you are correct, I took that as two months so I said to her, you mean to tell me it takes two months and she said yes.
I paid for it with my ATM Debit/Visa, how long do you think it will be before I see my refund?

Thanks so much for the help....I'm bumbed we had to cancel, but we just bought our first home in November and there is no way 2006 will hold a WDW trip for us. I hope to book for 2007 just as soon as we can.

We had to cancel, but it only took days for the refund to show up on my CC, not several billing cycles like they said.

I have had to cancel a Disneyland vacation thru WDW travel and they said the same thing, two billing cycles. I think it was around 10 days if I remember correctly. They just like to give you worse case scenario I think. Congratulations on your new home, Disneyworld will always be there for you!

It shouldn't take too long at all. The *paperwork* goes through a clearing house and then on to your bank. It really shouldn't take more than 2 weeks for the credit to appear. Billing cycles have to do with actual credit cards: the next date a bill is generated would be 1 billing cycle; the next bill after that, 2 billing cycles.

I don't see where an ATM/debit should take any longer than a credit card, but give it 2 weeks. If it hasn't appeared by then, you should make some phone calls. Have faith, it'll go smoothly!

I had to cancel our December trip when my DH suffered a stroke just before Thanksgiving. I had the trip completely paid for, partly on credit card and the rest in cash. I recieved a check within 2 weeks and the credit was back on my credit card within days. I would imagine 2 weeks and you will have it back. Good luck in the new house.

I just cancelled our February trip (due to Katrina). My credit was on the next Visa statement that I received. I am eagerly waiting to plan my next trip. It's just a matter of when to go. With three kids we have to do the planning around school holidays. But remember, planning is half the fun.......

Thanks everyone for help. Since we had to skip the WDW trip dh and I are going to make a short little Valentines / Weekend trip to Vegas, so I could really use some of the money prior to then.

My Dad died the day before we were to arrive in October. I contacted Sue Ellen with DU immediately, she called me about 15 minutes later to say that everything was cancelled. I then had her reschedule the trip for November. I think that the balance for our room was back on my debit card within about 10 days. They also were generous enough to refund our Halloween party tuckets. They took a little longer to show up but still were there within 30 days. I think they say two billing cycles to cover any unforseen problems with your CC company.
