Me, my husband, daughter(8) and her friend(8) are going to bingemans in kitchner in july. I was wondering if anyone has gone there and what their experience was like. Is it a nice campground? did you like the waterpark there? etc. We bought the all inclusive package(3nights). Thanks for all your answers.

I personally have never been for the camping. But have friends that have gone and go back every year.

The park is fun. The mini-golf is old and seriously needs an upgrade, but still enjoyable with the kids. You will have fun. The camping is moderate, but again it will be a fun and enjoyable time away with the kids.

We have gone every year with friends, we usually go the first week of July, for 3nights. Its alot of fun, we really enjoy it. We take a morning and go to the Market, but we really like the convience of going to the water park when we want. The campground is nice, but the one set of washrooms is not very nice at all.. hopefully they have upgraded them this year. There is a new set, and if you can't find them, than ask, much cleaner and nicer. It quiet, and relaxing. The week we go, it seems like it gets pretty cool in the evening.

Have fun.. Sarah

where to start with Bingeman's.....
we have camped there twice, the first time was in 2000, when DS was a baby, and DD was a toddler. When we booked, I made a point of asking for a site that was grass, since DS was crawling, and near the washroom, since DD was training. I also mentioned that we were in a very large 4 room tent, and asked about a larger site. When we arrived, we were put on a very small, very sandy site in the trees, with no washroom within a 4-5 minute walk. I returned, and requested a new site, repeating our issues. We were placed on a grass site, and told we would be across from washroom facilities (a porta-potty).
In 2005, we tried there again, this time taking our tent trailer. We requested the corner site, in the lower level, close to the newer washroom. We were placed in the upper level, across from the camping cabins. When we parked the trailer, the people in the site beside us were packing up quickly in the mid-afternoon, and we soon found out why. The site across from us was covered in tents, with a large tarp connecting them. Both sides of the road were lined with cars, and as soon as the neighbouring site emptied, it became a parking lot. We were blessed with Beattles' music, in an unknown language, from 10am-midnight. When we complained about not being able to even get our vehicle onto our site, due to parked cars, we were told the cabin was booked for the weekend for a family gathering, and there was no limit to tents on a site in that area.
The second morning, I took my DS (5) to the washroom for a shower. We walked in to find a disgusting mess. There was garbage everywhere, and dirty clothes hanging off the sinks. We entered the shower area, to find a graduating pool of other people's shower water, since it was open under each stall, and the water ran down from left to right to a clogged drain. We decided to wait until they were cleaned. I returned a couple hours later, to use a toilet stall, to find that 3 of 5 were clogged, and the other two were filthy with no paper. I went to the desk (for the third time) to complain, and was told they were very busy, but would get to it. That night was as bad as the first, and there was no change to the facilities.
The next morning, we complained again, and gave up, deciding to shower by the water park, and enjoy our day there. The water park was great, and very clean, and the staff were excellent. We did the bumper boats (a tad dirty), batting cages, arcade, and kids area. Unfortunately, we had to return to the campground. Our last night, I went to the washrooms, and quickly decided to drive back down to the waterpark facilities, where I felt I had less chance of disease. After dodging a skunk that was running from site to site, enjoying the garbage that hadn't been picked up all weekend, we turned in early, to enjoy the Beattles' music as we attempted to sleep. The next morning, before we left, we went to the washrroms, and saw that the same face cloth was laying in the same spot on the floor, and the garbage still had dirty diapers hanging out of the can.
When we got home, we contacted the Manager, and received a voucher for a free night of camping. His advice.....don't stay in the area by the driving range, it tends to be filled by partiers, since there is no limits there, stay by the newer washroom (in the prefered sites). We never redeemed our coupon. The water park was great, and they definitely put alot of money into that area and the go-carts. The campground was disgusting at best.

:rotfl: Bingeman park is great!
It's too bad that someone had to have a bad experience and twice, but that was long ago. It has improved greatly since 3 years ago. They have now added more water slides, an indoor glow-in-the-dark mini-putt, climbing wall and so much more.
I have family in Waterloo so whenever we get the chance we go to Funworx and the kids have a blast. As far as the camping goes..its camping what do you expect? The Hilton?? lol
I am assuming you have been on their website? It's just like the pics show. I am sure you will have a great time..let me know how it went!

PS We are going to camp for three days this August long weekend. I won't go somewhere if I don't like it.

What do I expect? I expect that the shower water at my feet is mine, not a runoff of the three beside me. I expect that the washroom be cleaned daily, that dirty underwear, facecloths, and diapers not be left on the washroom floor. I expect there to be toilet paper and working toilets. I expect that the garbage be picked up at least once in 4 days, so that the area isn't attractive to skunks. I expect that if a campground has a 'party area', they don't place single families with small kids in it. I expect that if the management is aware there is an area that needs work, they fix it, instead of telling the customer (later) to 'stay away from the chalet area' (we had site 882). I don't expect the Hilton, as you so rudely mentioned, but Danny's Do Drop Inn was a little much. We have camped at a couple dozen different campgrounds in Ontario, Michigan, Nova Scotia and PEI, and this was by far the worst. The Manager sent us coupons for 2 nights camping, and we let them expire, I wouldn't camp there for free.

At the opposite end of the scale was the water park. It was excellent, and very clean. They had put alot of money into a wave pool, slides, arcade, and the go-cart track. The lower area was in disarray, but I have been told they have fixed it. Three years ago, the bumper boat area was filthy, 2 of 3 batting cages were down, the washrooms were closed, and only the ice cream booth was open. We did enjoy the water slides, mini-golf, jump pad, arcade and ice cream, and would consider a day trip, but they showed the campground was an after thought at best. At $40/nt, there are MUCH better options out there.

Well in Bingeman's defense, the new washroom facilites are INDIVIDUAL showers, the whole room is yours. I have three little girls and would never put them in a place full of garbage and germs. Maybe you should give them another try to see how things have improved. It's just too bad you've had to have a bad experience. I didn't mean to be rude, but it is what it is...camping. Next time try booking farther in advance and book the campsite you want.
Donna, I am sure you will have a good time!
