Anyone ever get the button for a perfect score on Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin?

After four years, I finally did it. I managed to get a score of 999,999. I'd always heard if you took a picture of your score and showed it to a cast member in the shop after the ride, you'd get a commemorative button.

Well, I did so, and I have to say I'm disappointed. It was a "I'm Celebrating" button with "2014 Galactic Hero" and "999,999" written across the face in black sharpie by someone with not-so-great handwriting.

Oh well.

My son hit the high number as well. I didn't know about the pin so I wrote to disney and they mailed him the same pin that you described. We do have a picture of the score though since he was quick to take a picture of hit.

That's awesome about the button! I had no idea about this! My DD did this once. She was 6 at the time. That would've been an awesome souvenir to have! I'll have to remember this for our upcoming trip - if someone can find that magical spot to get the perfect score again :). Thanks!

Just google it...

There are a couple of sites that give tips on getting a high score including pictures of what to shoot. There are a few items you want to hit...the left-hand of the giant red robot, the top of the volcano, the bottom of Zurg's platform, etc.

Some of those give 100,000 per hit, so getting to 999,999 isn't that difficult if you know where to shoot.

They have those buttons available for anyone to take, you can just write it on with the date she got the perfect score before.

I hit 999,999 most rides but never asked for button. I just take a photo of my score to send to my kids! :thumbsup2

My DS always gets it and last trip he got the full score on BOTH guns. The CM had the button all ready for him as he exited so he "knew". It's just the Celebrating Button that they wrote on but still fun.

DH was a Galactic Hero on our last trip. He hit 999,999 very early into the ride and has no idea how. He didn't take a pic but I told a cm and they have him a button. :)

Last week I got 999,999 on both guns for the second time. (helps when the ride stops briefly at a strategic spot :thumbsup2). I didn't think to ask for a button. I wish they would have your score on the picture they sell. I would have bought one then.

DH got one of those buttons, but I don't think he said anything to a CM. I think I was sulking (sore loser) and he was rubbing it in my face (sore winner) so the CM was quick to see the score and gave him a button. We wouldn't have known otherwise.

But yea, he got exactly what you described! We have one of those cloth boards with the crisscrossed ribbons and we have a nice collection of buttons pinned to it!

How are you able to get a photo? I've tried and the score shows up blank in the photo...:(

Just keep taking pictures until it shows up. The score blinks on and off, at the end of the ride, and it can be tough to time it in order to snap the photo while it is on.

You're disappointed in a free extra that you were given?

I was disappointed because I thought it would be something special, something magical.

I would be less disappointed if they had found someone with decent handwriting to have written on the button :)

I would be less disappointed if the sharpie wasn't wearing off before they even gave it to me :)

Maybe disappointed is too strong a word.
