Anyone ever get into CRT for dinner without ADR's???

I haven't had any luck trying to make an ADR for CRT in late September. Just wondering, has anyone ever done a "walk in" here? I'm sure it all boils down to last minute cancellations but I'm just hoping I still have a shot.

If you can't get an ADR for it, you're not going to be out anything by stopping by the restaurant that day and asking about dining later that night. You know? It's worth a shot!

I just made an ADR for CRT dinner, for 3 weeks from now....thought it was too late, but I got the date and the time, 7p.m......call again maybe there will be cancellations....

We went last year in March (during Spring Break)....and we made reservations for CRT dinner that morning. We had several times to pick from. That night though, they were sending people away. I would definately not try to get seats w/o a reservation in Sept. The free dining will make it almost impossible for walk ups...esp. @ such a popular restaurant.

My husband and I have done this several times. We have made a PS as late as 1:30pm for a spot that evening (and I still have my "card" to prove it!). We've never made advancecd reservations for a CRT dinner and have had no problem getting in. We usually schedule our dinner for about 8 or 9pm which I think helps...we saw very few families as most had eaten dinner by that time...so it was more couples than anything else. There were a lot of people there who had just made a PS earlier that day or the day before.

That's so funny...I started this exact same thread a few weeks ago when I couldn't get dinner reservations either. Most people, I think, said that there was nothing to be lost by trying.

Fortunately, I don't have to put it to the test, because I called the next week and got an opening! So keep calling--cancellations must be reasonably frequent!

We still have a couple of months before our trip (leaving 9/20), so I'm going to keep calling in the meantime. If I still don't have any luck I'll give it another shot once we get down there.
