They always have such great rates on their cyber specials...can anyone tell me how they liked this airlines...and would they fly with them again? Thanks bunches :)

Yes !!!

My hubby & I flew Spirit round trip from National in DC to Ft. Lauderdale last summer. I absolutely would fly Spirit again. The staff seemed much more safety conscious than our usual carrier, Delta, & we were pulled back from the gate & in the air a few minutes early both ways leading to early arrivals both ways. Best of all - the price couldn't be beat! From our area, their destinations are extremely limited so one would need to check their site to see their origin/destination availability, but if it's in the area you can fly from or to, I would recommend Spirit.

It's not only the low cost, but you can't beat them for their direct flights from the airports they serve with the added plus they have very good departure times. At the moment I have 2 trips booked with them within the next 6 months.

I have flown Spirit 10+ times in the last 2 years, and have no complaints at all. Granted, they are a no-frills airline (that is, no first class, on-flight snacks aren't fancy, etc.), but they get the job done and are well worth the money. I have only experienced one delay in my several trips (a 1.5-hour delay because the emergency exit was broken), which is excellent for an airline company. Many have complained about their lack of customer service, but I have found the opposite. On more than one occasion, I have called to make changes to my reservation (all because I was extending my trips to WDW), and they have been wonderful about it. Because of everything that has been going on in the country as of late, I decided to postpone my trip (I'm supposed to be there right now!) until the spring, and Spirit waived the $75 change of schedule fee. Just be forewarned about them: their tickets are 100% non-refundable, period, no exceptions. So, be sure that you are going to go to WDW before you book; rescheduling is not a problem with them, but there is no cancellation policy.

Have a great trip! :)

I have never had any personal experience with Spirit, but one of my husband's co-workers flew them from Chicago to Orlando twice and had nothing but trouble both times. On one of the flights, he ended up getting to Orlando at 3 a.m.! That was much earlier this year...perhaps they've improved, or perhaps it depends on where your flight originates from. If the fare is low enough and you are flexible, they might be worth a try.

Yes, we flew with Spirit last year and were very satisfied. We allowed ourselves to be bumped and therefore got 2 tickets for anywhere they fly. We are using them in Jan for WDW along with 2 tickets purchased for the kids. When we were bumped we got on another fight 1 hr. later that took us to Ft. Myers which was closer to where we were visiting than Tampa (our original flight) They also gave us a 3 seater for just the two of us. I would definately recommend them. Also, the ease of flying out of Atlantic City instead of Phila is great. Go for it!

I fly Spirit Airlines from Atlantic City to Orlando 3-4 times per year and have done so for many years. I have nothing but good things to say about Spirit. They are very professional, have great customer service and great flight times, prices, etc. One time my flight was delayed by 3 hours and they gave each passenger a $50.00 credit for a future flight for our inconvenience. I thought this was customer service at it's best--I have had flights with bigger airlines that have been delayed longer than 3 hours and they never gave us anything more than $5.00 food vouchers.

Debi,

How did you get Spirit to waive the $75.00 when you postponed your trip? I just called to ask if they are waiving the fee right now and she said no. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Spirit Airlines in our area is different. To get other flights to Orlando you either have to take a USAirways shuttle to Philadelphia or Baltimore. You can also drive to Philadelphia, where there are flights from US Airways at least every hour. I have taken 2 flights using Spirit Airlines and have had trouble on both of them. The first time, the departing flight was on time with no problems. On our return trip, we arrived at the airport to find a 3 hour delay which ended up being a 5 hour delay. No compensation or apologies! The second time, I flew by myself to Orlando. The flight was supposed to leave at 7:25am. I arrived at the airport and discovered that the flight was delayed until 11:30am. While standing in line to check in we were told that the flight would not be leaving until 2:30pm. The only compensation that I was offered was a $5.00 voucher for the restaurant at the airport. Since my husband had driven me to the airport, we just went home and called the airport for updates. I arrived back at the airport at 1:oo. Meanwhile, a flight that was scheduled to leave at 1:30 left before our flight! Needless to say I was not the only one who was annoyed by this ! The staff offered no apologies or compensation for the 7 hour delay. The return trip was right on schedule.
Would I fly Spirit again? I would if there was an outstanding deal. However, I know that delays are probable. Even if you have to travel to Philadelphia and use an airline like US Airways, they have a lot of flights that run to Orlando, and a lot of back up planes so the odds are that the delay would not be quite as long.
