I've driven from Detroit which is exactly 4 hours north of Dayton. It took me 19 hours straight through. So that would be 15 for you. We were thinking about driving this year but we decided to fly. If we drove we were going to stop at Mammoth Cave for the night and go on a tour. However that is probably only 4 hours from Dayton. Good Luck.....

Even with my extra 2 hour drive now I still try to make it past Atlanta before I break for the night. Just the thought of having that crowded city behind me, and not having to face the traffic during the day, makes me feel alot better. In addition, the trip between Atlanta and the Florida border seems to be the longest and most boring. Remember the heat in the summer. get your car checked out before you leave.
