Anyone ever do this!

My friend Fran attended the meeting the last day of our cruise on what is expected of you when leaving (customs, when to have luggage out, don't steal the towels ). Well it was just after that meeting that she took violently ill, so she tried to tell me the best she could what we needed to do. She said have the luggage outside the door by 10:00 and then went to bed. I stayed up until nearly 1 am packing up that night and put the luggage outside our door at about 6:30 am. So we get off the ship okay and then go to fetch our luggage. UH OH, no luggage! The luggage is supposed to be outside your stateroom door by 10:00 PM!!!! (not AM).

They were VERY decent about it and sent a porter up to get the luggage. Took about 20 minutes and we tipped the porter well for her troubles.

No have have never done this. From your recent posts it sounds like you had your hands full on this cruise anyway!

They also stress to set out your clothes to wear home BEFORE you put your luggage out at 10 PM. I would not want to leave the ship in PJ's.

This happened to me years ago! My senior trip from high school was a 4 day cruise to the Bahamas on the S.S. Emerald Seas, (not sure what the line was, but it is no longer in business). There were 500 high school seniors on a ship that held 900 or so guests. How would you have liked to be an adult passenger on that ship!

Anyway, my roomate and I forgot to put our luggage out in time, we overslept. When we got up to take a shower, we were already in port and they had turned the water off! So, we had to drag our own luggage off the ship, as well as ride a bus back to St. Louis from Miami with no shower!

Needless to say I always remember to put my luggage out now!
