Anyone Ever Do This?

My wife found out today that she has to attend a trade conference in early January - at the Royal Pacific. I was looking over the events included and this caught my eye: on Thursday January 5 from 7:45 to 11:30 PM the WWOHP will host conference members for a private party.

Conference members will have the place to themselves. I have no idea how many people will be at this conference, but I doubt more than 500 or so, plus family. I don't think any other part of the parks will be open to them, just the WWOHP. All the HP rides will be operating.

Has anyone ever been to a private party like this? I'm thinking of going along just for the HP event - I mean, all of HP for almost four hours for just 500 people?

Haven't ever done it but sure wish I could!
Have a blast.

I went to the passholder-only event for WWoHP last year in November or December. I honestly feel like there wasn't that many people there at all. It was very manageable and I was able to do everything I wanted very easily.

You'd probably be fine and able to do everything with time to spare.

Long before WWofHP, my brother and his wife went to a work event at Universal. They had an AMAZING time.

Definitely go!

I'm going to the DISApalooza 2011 – DIS/DISUnplugged/Dreams Unlimited Travel WWHOP Event in December. It should be fun. :thumbsup2

Us too! I am hoping to get the opportunity to really experience the 'nooks and crannies' of WWoHP as I expect the crowds to be quite low compared to a 'normal' park day.

I think you should totally go to the event, I'm sure it will be great. :thumbsup2

I'm torn about going, because we will be going in October 2012, staying on site and will have early entry at that time. Mostly it's the cost: $265 for "spouse" conference fee (which is the only way to get a ticket to the private HP event - they don't have that as a separate activity), plus another $275 for airfare, plus meals/spending money. Probably around $800 all told for a 4 hour HP party. That would buy a couple of nice dinners for our party of nine in October.

(sigh), I guess I'm passing this one up. The ironic part is that I am the theme park lover in the family. My wife read the books but is not a particularly huge HP fan. Now she gets to see it before me!

Probably a good call. If you are staying onsite in October with FOTL access, you'll have lots of time to explore the parks. Granted you won't have HP duirng a private party, but if it is a work event for your spouse, you would have to have your work manners on and not be a theme park tourist.

Now that the OP has given us additional info, including cost, I have to agree.
