Anyone ever change rooms due to noisy neighbors?

I was just reading the report of person staying at Poly who had the very noisy neighbors & wondering if anyone has ever had super noisy neighbors for a few nights & so asked to have rooms switched. Don't know if resort would do this or not. We are staying at Poly at end of January. Any rooms to request so that there is less of a chance of this? Are the newer rooms more sound proof?

We would certainly ask....we are all very light sleepers and quiet neighbours are very important! We always request a quiet room on a high floor and so far have been very lucky!

We were staying at the YC one year, and next door were some very noisy neighbors. They started their loud partying every night, so we called down to the front desk to complain, and the security guard asked them to quiet down, which they did. The next night, it started again, so we called the front desk, and they offered to let us move into a suite! We declined however, because it would have been for one night only, and as usual, we had so much stuff with us. The management of the YC was very responsive, but the inconvenience wouldn't have been worth it. The trip was over a three day weekend. I felt they were really trying to accomodate us for something that wasn't their fault anyway. The manager of the YC followed up the next day, making sure everything was all right. My husband ended up writing a very nice letter to her boss, complimenting her for her efforts.

I actually did the poll about noisy resorts because of our neighbor problems at the Poly. :rolleyes:

If you have a connecting door to a noisy room, look out, it will be much worse. The poly maybe cause of older construction has thin walls? But I've had the loudest problems in tokelau which is one of the "newer" buildings. We LOVE the poly, and go back frequently, but usually do have a few noise problems for part of our stay there. :earseek:

The quitier buildings seem to be the farther building (aortartoa, tahiti) maybe not as many people request them? Also the concerige building (hawawii) was quietier, for some reason. Heres to hoping for a quiet building in march :smooth:
