We're planning a 4 night cruise in December to Bahamas on RC. Anyone ever been on one of their cruises? Did you like it? Any thing you didn't like? Thanks for your help!!

Thanks for the link!! I get to hit WDW for 3 nights after the cruise, so I'm thrilled about that!!:D

My DH just earned (through his job) a Royal Caribbean Mexican Riviera 7 night cruise in Oct. I think the ship is Legend of the Seas. My brother took a RC cruise years ago and they liked it. That's the most recent review I've had. That message board is just what I was looking for.

DW and I sailed on the Monarch of the Seas in 1993 and loved it.
I don't remember a lot of the little details, but it was a beautiful ship and we had a great time. The food was verygood and the service too.

We have been on several, on the Viking Serenade which is no longer in service. Although the ship was one of their oldest, we had a wonderful, relaxing trip each time. It was our weekend getaway to Ensenada, Mexico, which is not the most wonderful port in the world, but just being able to get away from it all for the weekend was great. The food was excellent, and the service was amazing. It was not a party cruise by any means - there was a social scene, obviously, but compared to the Carnival ship which did the same route, it was completely low-key and relaxing. I don't know if you have kids, but the kids program was great as well - not Disney, obviously, but there were lots of activities going on at all times - my sister never wanted to join us for dinner because of all the activities going on. I would definitely recommend this line.

If you have any more questions feel free to PM me. :)

Yes :D

I've been on the Monarch of the Seas and the old Nordic Prince (no longer sailing with RCCL).

Their service, food and accomodations were wonderful. The Ship Shape exercise program was really fun and I hope they still offer it. If they do, try it. For each activity you joined in you earned points towards prizes (shirts, hats, keychains). I'd recommend sailing with Royal Carribean.

YES! We were on Sov. of the Seas two summers ago. We loved it and the kids had a blast:cool: ! They wanted to go to the kids clubs all the time and never wanted to leave! We had a window room, upper level but not the highest or most expensive. About mid-upper price(could probably have paid for a lower level and been just as well) . The room was smaller than some other lines, but quite cozy. No balconies on this particular ship. Food was fabulous. I want to do a Disney Cruise next, so I cannot compare...yet! Coco Cay was their beautiful island. We spent a wonderful day there:cool: and did not want to leave. Ship had very elegant main areas, pianist playing as we entered. Great service.:D

We were also on Sovereign of the Seas in September, 1998 (our 10 year anniversary). Unfortunately, we ran into Hurricane Georges, could not make our Key West port, and had an extra day at sea.

We actually think the food is somewhat better on RCL than Disney, and certainly the alcohol is more plentiful.

It is a very nice ship.

I went on a RCC in 1999 on the Majesty of the Seas. An older ship from 1994 I think. I thought the trip was ok, but not fabulous. Mind you, this was my first cruise, so I could say the same for say Carnival. I guess I'm just not a cruising person.... I was bored outta my mind at times (during the day). I'm not on to sunbathe, swim or go play bingo (everything for me was so expensive given that we had to pay in US dollars making it extra expensive for us)... and we had to share dinining arrangements with three other couples (and they weren't the friendliest type to 'our kind', if you get my drift)... Felt very alienated and isolated on that ship... and after two days, I was just bored of the ship.

Loved the ports of call though... Found getting off the ship and seeing the islands were great.

Thanks for all of your replies. There will be 6 of us, me, DH, DD, DS, DH's sister and her husband. The ship is Majesty of the Seas and goes to the Bahamas, CocoCay and Key West. We'll have an ocean view, without a balcony though, and got a great rate. We are heading to WDW after the cruise so at least I get my Disney fix!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
