Anyone ever asked TMs to take photos?

I was cagily thinking about asking a few TMs during my visit to take photos of me at various points around IOA. Now, this is not going to make or break my stay, obviously, but I am wondering what would be the TM's reaction if someone asked them politely?

Is there any chance they would refuse on principle, or do you think that a guest request like that is part of the everyday job? :confused3

I've been asked many times to take a stranger's photo (I'm not a TM). People are generally quite happy to snap a shot for you on your camera.

I would think they would be more than happy to do that for you, people ask complete strangers to do that in theme parks and other tourist points all the time, I don't see why TM's wouldn't :)

I always offer to take pics of couples or families so they can ALL be in the pic. People are generally kind hearted-they will take a pic for you! Have fun :)

This. Under most circumstances, a TM will gladly take a photo of/for/with you.

We have often asked a TM to take a picture and they have always been happy to do so. I always try to make sure they don`t look as if they are in a rush or are too busy though.

Same with everyone else in the parks, we have offered to take family pics to make sure everyone is in it and likewise people have offered to do the same for us. People are nice.

Thought Tom had missed his calling last year..........on the bridge with the HP castle behind, he had taken a pic for a family when another family asked if he would take their family group. As we were about to turn another couple asked if he would mind snapping them...........I could see us being there a while

I have been able to pick up most of the abbreviations used on this board but what the heck is a TM?

I always try to offer to take pictures for people. Granted, I usually don't end up having people taking very many family photos near me, but I still offer if the opportunity arises. :)

Thanks for the replies, guys. It seems pretty conclusive. If I can summon up the courage to ask a TM, normally they will be fine with it!

I got my inspiration from this photo in a trip report by forum user czycropper. I MUST get my photo taken standing in the SAME position in front of Hogwarts. What an amazing memento.

Just walk up to one with your camera in hand and a smile on your face! The TMs are friendly and know that guest service is important. The photo op is one of the simplest and most common things they do.
