My brother35 wears shorts all winter also. We were grocery shopping the other day, and I saw a girl I work with in court. We talked for a few minutes and then moved on. I thought, "I hope she doesn't think he is my SO.. he looks stupid in his shorts and it freezing out." Then I remembered that SO wears shorts all winter long too. It must be a guy thing.
My DS, 11, is the same way. The good thing is that he can't wear shorts to school from Nov 1- May 1, otherwise, he'd be wearing them. And of course, he'll only wear a hoodie as a jacket, no matter what the temperature is.
Nope...my son is 8 and wears pants in the winter. HOWEVER, my DH35 wears shorts year round.....so I won't be surprised if DS starts doing it when he is older!!
yep. don't worry though. None of us will think , "what kind of mom does that boy have" when we see him in shorts and t-shirts in the snow. We'll just be like, I relate. LOL. My sons did this all thru hs. Now they're freshman in college. I had a fight with one son because he spent $250. of his money on a fur coat, which at least he wears all the time. The other son goes back and forth between shorts and hoodie, versus wearing whatever winter coat he can grab.
I picked DS and his friend up from school yesterday. They knew I was going to be late because his DS and him both got done at the sametime and I had to pick DD up first. He knew he would have to stand out in 16 degree weather for at least 15 minutes. I pull up and he is standing there in a Jimi Hendrex t-shirt and a pair of summer weight pants. His friends was wearing a winter coat. I asked him where his coat was and he said it was in his locker. You had 15 minutes, why didn't you walk down and get it. It was too far to walk. agh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My DS14 is still wearing shorts to school. He says it's hot once he's in school, and he'd rather be cold getting to and from school instead of hot all day once he's there.
As for coats, he doesn't want to leave it in his locker or carry it around all day, so he just wears a hoody. DD12's locker isn't even big enough for a coat.

That reminds me!!! I went in to my DS8 school one day to his classroom for a craft day...and it was downright HOT in there!!! I looked over at my "poor" son and felt so bad...I had a turtleneck and sweater on him, and he was sweating!!!
When I was in Jr. High and High School, I would wear shorts pretty much year-round (this was on Long Island.) In fact, I still get teased about it every once in awhile, but who cares, I was comfortable!
At 25, I still wear shorts year round, but since I live in Florida, its a bit more acceptable, lol.
Yes DD,16, and with flip flops. In the summer she wears sweatshirts and long pants, the big heavy ones from Hot Topic. I'm glad to know that my teenager isn't the only one that does this.
I also wear shorts and flip-flops in the dead of winter. Granted I'm a swimmer, and after practice, its only a 50 ft walk to the car from the pool. I just don't like taking the time to put jeans on when I'm still somewhat wet. But it kills my dad when he picks me up.
