My pool has been crystal clear all season but now that the heat wave has hit, it has clouded up on me. I had a ton of kids in the pool two nights ago. I threw two bags of burn out in after they left, still cloudy in the morning. It was hot again yesterday. I backwashed the filter, (first time this season), kids in the pool last night. Somewhat cloudy this morning. 3 bags of burn out. I just checked the ph and added acid. Any thoughts? I guess it will just take time.

We went away for a week... came home to some significant algae. We have been able to kill the algae, but we have not been able to clear the coudiness in the water.

I think it's almost time to call in the experts! :confused3

For both pools, Water Clairfier may do the trick.

In Theory takes small particles, combines them to make big particles, which allows the filter to it's job.

Also check the product you are using, if there is a lot of inert ingredients that might be helping the clouds

Mine is crystal clear, However I can't stop the green algee. I have put in tripple doeses of algicide, but no help. I have been vacuming the pool every other night in the heat. Any ideas

I use Biogard products which are supposed to be very good with little inert ingredients. Have to tried the Biogard AlgaeAll. I have never had visable algae in the life of our pool and I use AlgaeAll once a week.

Could be chloramines. When different particles combine- hair sparys, sunscreen, body lotion etc. Generally the only way to break up the particles is to super shock the pool. Cloudy pools are almost 99% caused from this. Dawn, I know you don't use chlorine, but can you still supershock? By supershock i mean 10x the normal amount of chlorine/bromine etc...

Try that

Hi Brandy, I do use chlorine. I use Biogard Chlorine products; Stingy sticks, Burn Out, AlgaeAll 60, etc. I think I supershocked the pool between yesterday and today, 6 bags of Burn Out for 26,000 gals. Of course, I am not a study in patience so I would like the cloudy to vanish. I can see the bottom drain more clearly than after I shocked it this morning at 6 am, so maybe I am making progress. I added acid and the ph has come down a bit too.

Yep! Haven't been able to get it clear since the intense heat started. Got some water clarifier yesterday and today we will be vacuuming. It is actually too hot to be out by the pool these days as there is no shade...

I have the same problem with our pool and have been pulling our hair out trying to get it clear. All started with the heat...

Ours is getting cloudy, too. Shocked it, cleaned the filter, still a bit cloudy. Its driving me nuts. Ours also started with the extreme heat.

I took a sample of water into the pool place. Perfectly balanced so I bought Poly Sheen Blue, the clarifier. I just added 5 ounces so we will see how it looks tomorrow. Good luck pool people!!! :thumbsup2
