Say they will NEVER ever go on a ride, end up going on it, then LOVING it?

I was scared to go on Rock N' Rollercoaster and then LOVED it. Now it is my favorite ride by far!

Anyone else have this happen to them or someone they know??

No. Actually, I don't think there is a ride I WON'T go on. :)

I had the opposite thing happen . . .

I normally LOVE roller coasters. The higher, faster, more loops, the better. We were super excited to go on ToT. Right afterwards, I told DH "never again."
I am not sure why I did not like it. :confused3

Maybe since it's more like an elevator. I don't know if it makes sense, but it's more like an elevator and not like a roller coaster. But I don't know.:confused3

When I was really little, I begged my parents to please not make me go on TOT. They made me anyways and I was still scared and shaking after going on it. But as I got older, TOT became one of my all time favorite disney rides. By the way, I love the new Summer Nightastic addition Disney added! Does anybody know if this is permanent or is it only for Summer Nightastic?

I used to be scared to ride TOT until I read here on the Dis that you are actually being pulled down instead of dropped. I went on it in Feb. and dicsovered that it is really fun! I even have a fear of heights. Go figure!!

We never wanted to go on Test Track. It just did not look like a ride we would like. We ended going on it with some family who went to Disneyworld with us a couple years ago and now it is one of our favorite rides.

DS was scared to go on RnRC & since DH does NOT like coasters, it was 2 against 1 for several trips (I'd ride single without them).

And then popcorn::

We took a "girls" & kids trip to celebrate my aunt's 50 b-day. One day, part of our group, 6 women over 40 years old, all decided to to ride RnRC. This group of ladies included my mom (his grandma) & so I'm sure some moms will be horrified at my behavior, but basically I told my DS he just needed to suck it up & give it ONE try. AFterall, even grandma wants to ride & she always does EVERYTHING you want to so turn abouts fair play. Then I assured him once we go through the big pink donut the ride is basically over.

Fortunately we all had FP's so the wait wasn't too long & I told him as we buckled in, just look for the donut. It'll be over before you know it. After the ride the first thing out of his mouth, "I didn't see no donut" so I asked him if he'd like to ride again to see it & he wanted to!!!!

It is now his favorite ride. Well, now that he's rode EE it's a toss up. He loves them both

I'm hoping this will be true for my 14 year old in March. We've been deciding what parks and rides we want to do. He'd prefer to skip the Haunted Mansion at MK, but I'm making him try it, as I think he'll enjoy it and that he has misconceptions about it because of the movie. I told him that if he doesn't like it, it can be his first and last time. My suspisions are that he'll think it's a hoot.

I've always considered my self a die-hard ride fan...didn't matter what kind of ride, I was up for it. However, I'm scared to death of Mission Space - haven't rode it, can't say if I ever will. :scared:

Haunted Mansion (I'm afraid of haunted houses because I got lost in one when I was a tween). Swore I'd never step foot in it but because my DD likes the movie, I went online and learned everything possible about it, removing all scary surprises. DD12 & I love this ride now!

BTMRR: I remember when this ride first opened and I thought it was so scary. After trying the Haunted Mansion the previous year, I decided to face another fear ride and gave this one a shot. Again, DD12 and I fell in love, it's one of our favorites!

Moral of my story? I guess this lil camper needs to buck up and finally try Space Mountain in February....;)

I'm not frightened of any roller coaster. But I'm still afraid to ride the scary side of Mission Space...Someone died after they rode it years ago! That freaks me out.

I haven't let anyone in my family ride it either. Am I insane?

I'm a big sissy when it comes to roller coasters, I tried EE because my family kept talking about how much fun it was and that I should try it. I now LOVE that ride and go on it every chance I get. I laugh and scream like a big baby, but really have a good time on it.

I did TOT for the second and last time EVER in April. When we got off I literally felt like I was having a heart attack and told my niece there was absosultely no way in heck I was ever going back on. I promised her I'd go on Space Mountain instead. I hadn't been on that one since childhood. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and will probably do it again in November with my other niece.

YES!!
Tower of Terror....I swore I would never ride it because I have an elevator phobia but I got on it and now its my favorite ride!! I love it and its not anything like I thought it would be.

I also rode Everest and was a bit disappointed in it...thought it would be scarier.

The only thing I haven't done is Rock and Roller coaster.....

I went on Splash Mountain, thought it was terrifying (I'm a chicken) and swore "never again". Then, my kids dragged me on it during our June 2010 trip and I loved it, rode it about 4 times.

ToT and Test Track for me. LOVE them both now and can't for the life of me remember why I was scared to try them! :lmao:

ETA: I still don't plan on ever trying Mission: Space (orange) - I just know I'll have a "protein spill" since I get a little urpy on Star Tours. But I do plan on trying Mission: Space (green) this year. We'll see....

There isn't a ride at WDW I won't ride.

In fact, I can't think of any ride, in ANY amusement/theme park that I won't ride. That being said, not to sure about the newest one at the Stratos in Vegas; a near 1000' controlled free fall (first segment is free fall, then the brakes kick in). Might draw the line on that one, or anything on the Stratos. :)

I'm not sure I said I would NEVER go on Winnie the Pooh, but we generally skipped it in lieu of other attractions. A couple years ago, when we were in Tokyo, we did it there to see what all the fuss was about. It is the #1 attraction there. We ended up being very impressed and fighting for FP the next day with everyone else.

We are off to WDW in a few days and we are starting off EMH with Winnie and I hope it has some of the Magic of the tokyo one.

ToT for me. My DD rode it by herself, and then she told me that it wasn't that bad, and wanted me and DS to go on again with her. I really did NOT want to do it. I was really scared. But, after doing it, it wasn't that bad. And I am the biggest ride chicken.
