I am taking off from PVD next Wednesday afternoon. Getting a little panicky regarding this Florence business. Glad to see it will "more than likely" miss Florida, but could definitely be a problem for the northeast next week. I know it is way too early to predict, but anyone else getting antsy?

Hurricanes come and go. When traveling this time of year it is best to roll with the punches and acknowledge that your plans may be disrupted. Be prepared and take heart in how much money you're saving by vacationing during this time of year.

We are not leaving til the 16th, but I told my DH it would be kind of ironic if Flo hit up here and that is why we couldn't fly out. We worry so much about the FL weather.

I could just see me calling my cousin in FL to tell her.

We keep a sense of humor and adventure....works like a charm, no matter what gets thrown at us. :teeth:

We went through Wilma last October, she shut down Amtrak, our ways there and back, for 3 days forcing us to stay 3 extra days in Disney. Just back from Disney yesterday and Ernesto was touted as being unpredictable, shut down Amtrak again but didn't affect our schedule or stay. One day of heavy rain, cool temps and then the sun came out and shown the rest of our stay and when it was time to leave, Amtrak was running again. Hurricanes are a real pain, forecasters are getting overzealous in predictions but must blow through or tame down as they hit Orlando. Worry, yes, care, no. Others are there, its about the safest place to go through a hurricane, in my opinion.

for the first time and you are safer than us. :) Just think of it that way.

We're not driving because I'm PARANOID to fly (even though I am)...:) We've just always wanted to experience the drive. Next year, we'll probably fly again (unless of course we LOVE the experience).

Have a great time!!!
