Anyone else watch 8 simple rules tonight?

I think tonights episode was the last one before he died.
The part at the very end of the credits with him standing in the doorway got me.

Last night's episode was John's last eposide. Next week they start reruns. I am just not sure how they can save the show. He was the glue that held it together. Such a loss.

we watched it and as the end credits rolled, i got all teary eyed too...how very sad...i hope that they are able to salvage the show somehow. i really enjoy watching it! it will be sad not to see john ritter on it any longer...

I won't be able to watch now. It just won't be the same. Like watching "Threes Company" without him. You can change the girls, but you can't replace Jack.

I cried during the credits....what a loss!

I had heard that they have been working on a one-hour special dealing with John's character's death on the show. I frankly think this should be the final episode...I can't imagine the show without him. My husband had heard a rumor about Tony Danza filling in, not as a new "Dad", but as an uncle figure...maybe the wife's brother?

They did say on the tribute show for him that they are doing a show that shows his death, it is supposed to air a few weeks after this last episode. they also said they ahve no plans for any replacement of his character.
