Anyone else taking acting classes?

Hey all!
As you probably figured out, I love to act. My mom has offered to put me in acting classes for 150$ a month! I would really like to know peoples opinions on classes and if they really do help. PLEASE, any info would be great!

Have you ever acted before? Do you like to talk in front of large crowds? Are you comfortable in front of a camera? Do you remember things well, and in order?

These are all qualities of good actors. Consider these ebfore paying that money.

In my experience, an art can not be taught, but a talent can be nurtured.

I'm just in my Drama class at school. If you don't have classes available you have my pity and Understanding. But if your mom's offering. . .TAKE IT! Take it before she comes to her senses!!!!

hey! i have been taking musical theatre for 4 years(acting,dancing,and singing)
and i Lob it! it really teaches you how to open up in your acting and not to be so shy...it's a very good choice! have fun w/ it! and pm if u want to talk more!!

i used to, and i also took courses at my summer camp. they were soooooooooo much fun, i especially loved when we did comedy. it was hilarious to watch everyone and do it yourself, the improv was the best, you never knew what was going to happen! i always loved performing but the classes made me enjoy it even more. definately go with it! they'll be a lot of fun and you'll meet great people too.

never have, and probably never will, but sounds funn....if i got the chance i def would and good luck with it...although always remember when you get famous and become a celebrity dont forget your friends here at the disboards lololol...although i hope you have funn with the classes they sound pretty cool

I would jump at the chance to go into acting classes!!!

I've been considering taking classes at my local theatre for a while, but I know it's alot of $$$ and honestly, the drama program @ my school is AMAZING, so I think I'm getting the same expirience by just doing drama @ school.

THey are building a new HUGE theatre in my area and they are gonna have like REAL broadway plays (Cats & Joseph!)

So I think I might start taking the classes this year (even though I am graduating high school next year!)

I want to go to university to study theatre, so we'll see!
