Anyone else take the new vmk survey?

Its on the homepage.

I must say that i REALLY didn't like the question that made me choose between a behind the scenes tour, vmk prize code cards, or a bunch of other silly little things as rewards for a park quest.

I like the fact that they have both the tour AND the prize packs now. But this survey leads me to believe that one of those may be going bye bye down the road. :confused3

anyway, check it out if you havent yet. ;)

Thanks for the heads up! I am happy to see they are asking for input on some possible improvements.

The question that scared me the most was the one asking what age group you belonged to! Boy was I relieved when the top category was "Over 18" :rotfl:

I took the survey and picked tour. this is the way it is currently that you have to take the tour to get the "best" prizes.

The way I read between the lines, if you just picked prize pack, was instead of being made to take the tour they would just give you the prizes and not make you take the tour.

Staff at VMK central in WDW have said that people come up and do not want to take the tour and just ask for the prizes. Some people do not want to "waste" a few hours of their vacation.

Yeah, I took it too. I didn't like taht I could only choose one of the possible rewards for an in-park quest. Reserved seating for Wishes would be cool too :)

I loved the fireworks show so much that I would want that as my reward. I'm not too concerned about the prize pack, because I manage to trade for most of it anyway. But what about getting both!? My sisters and bf deserve a tangible prize after I drag them along on my self-serving VMK quest. :)

Even the vmk shirt would be cool, if you could buy one or maybe win one while on the tour. But as a prize for a quest? nuh uh. lol

Heck i am a t-shirt freak (and neckties, but dont get me started on my 75+ and growing disney tie collection lol). I mean i usually buy 5-10 t-shirts while i am at wdw anyway, so i'd buy a vmk shirt if they had them.

The free soda, to me, was just a smack in the face lol. Anyone else think they threw that one in as they were typing up the survey? :rotfl2:

I agree, have some sort of thing set up in vmk central where all these options are available. You complete the quests and you can choose the tour, OR the firewroks seating, OR the prize packs, OR a tshirt (which they could have right there), OR a coupon for a free soda (lol).

I mean obviously, they would have to limit the number of people per day that could choose the fireworks, but they do that witrh the tour already. So why not just do them all and let people pick? :confused3

I took the survey and chose the VMK prize cards. The preferred viewing is a nice choice also.

HOLY COW! You must have a houseful of Disney T-shirts anf ties! Lol! Tag fairy, where are you? NJ Mike needs a tag.... :cool1:

I was disappointed in the survey too. I think they mean to award only one prize now for completing quests... I voted for VMK cards/prize pack - need that rare stuff!

I'm glad I'm not the only Disney clothing freak. I always bring a different
Disney shirt to wear each day on a trip to WDW. I have a huge collection
of Disney watches, and I have to wear one of them every day. :)

My friends and family think I can open up my own Disney store. ;)

Anyway, I haven't taken the survey yet. Still without a computer, and
staying on work computer to keep up here. :)

not yet have not had the time but I will....

I really HOPE that they are not hinking of doing away with any of the VMK things...ie tour or quests...while I have not done either it would be a big blow to the game and I thought the whole idea was to promote VMK to get more people interested into going to WDW/DL? :confused3

I just took the survey and was not happy with the choices.

We were at WDW last weekend, took the the pirate tour ( HM was closed for refurbishing ) our guide was Ryan. After the tour I asked Ryan they were going to bring back the HM tour when HM re-opened, he said no. Well the next day at VMK central I asked a CM working the counter if they would offer the HM tour again or if there would be anyway to get the HM room and he said NO! He also walked over to the display case that had the quest cards in them and pointed to the Tommorowland, Frontierland, Adventureland cards and said that these would not be available after the end of the year. He said they would be "collectors items" his words not mine. I didn't think to ask if they would offer other items on the quest or just do away with quests. But with the survey it almost seems like they have already made up their minds and make it look like it was because of a survey result.

I haven't taken the survey yet but I probably would choose prize cards. I've always felt the VIP tour would be temporary or they would start charging a fee to take the tour. As it stands right now, it's a wonderful gift to people who complete the quests.

What is the purpose of the tour? For me it really boiled down to getting the prize cards. Don't get me wrong, I really did enjoy the game history and the trivia discussed on the tour but I could have done without it. I assume Disney has a purpose for the tour, probably to promote VMK. How much longer does Disney have to offer the tour which promotes the game which promotes the theme parks? At some point it will make sense to drop the free tour.

What about the quests? Those could be a great marketing tool for Disney. All they need to do is change the quests every once in a while to keep them fresh. The scavenger hunt aspect is great and it led to me going to places I normally wouldn't go in WDW. They just need to have questions that lead you to food and merchandise. We'll do the impulse buying. Offering prize cards for real life purchases is also great for Disney. I'd love to see more offers! We bought a Splash Mountain photo, pins, shirts and hats that we wouldn't have bought because we wanted the cards. Did I want real life gold Mickey ears? Yes. Would I have bought them without the prize card promo? No.

Given all of that, I'd prefer to get prize cards for each completed quest and even more cards for completing all of the quests (or maybe three quests if they offer more than they do now).

I have no problem if Disney decides to offer a selection of prizes for completing the quests. I think preferred seating for Wishes, a VMK t-shirt and even soda (that one's kind of lame, but could be expanded to include a churro or turkey leg or whatever to make it more equal to the other prizes) are fine options but I also want the option of prize cards (tour or no tour).

I have been begging my parents endlessly to take me to WDW since VMK opened.I want to do the quests so bad!!They could change prizes every now and then to keep everything fresh.

The tour never was a great thing to me.I thought that it was a scheme to force people to play VMK.I can convince MOm to buy the pins, hats, and clothes to make me virtualy rich.

Maybe, they could have Quest series 3 at WDW and Quest series 4 at DLR.It would make people want to visit both parks.Maybe a HKDL or Pais quest? With different prizes of course.

Maybe differnet park Quests like MGM or AK.I would not visit AK if there was no Quest involved.I would visit any WDW park that has a Quest.

Just my 2 cents.

With the exception of the softdrink- all the prizes listed are pretty cool. Maybe they could do a thing where each time you turn in a new quest you get the next prize up- it would get people coming back for more wouldn't it? They could add all sorts of things into the list that way...

and still achieve the purpose of VMK which is to increase visits to the parks.

I also think expanding the quests to the other parks would increase the number of participants as well.
