Anyone else suffering from dreadful ebay sales?

Hello,

I am just wondering how all you ebayer's are doing? I thought maybe with the holiday things would pick up??? My auctions are very slow...I am not by any means a professional ebayer but this summer and fall I hit a couple of good batches of auctions that did well....but now things seem to be really slow.

I have an adorable cinderella piano up for auction from the disney store and only have 1 bid. I thought that item would be the one that would do really well.

The rest of my stuff is most some of my old clothes, my DD's clothes, books, videos computer games, and toys. Like I said just learning the ropes.

Would appreciate hearing how everyone else is doing.

Wish I was at Disney!!! :earboy2: :charac2:

I just started selling and am actually doing decent right now. I was a little worried since I usually only put two or three auctions on at a time (I have listed less then 10 things total since I started selling) and I have 10 up right now. Almost of them have multiple bids or good bids and the ones that don't are being watched pretty heavily. Most of my auctions are books though with a few toys and such. I haven't tried selling clothes yet since it is kinda intimidating to me. I have been lurking on the CCB and never realized how complicated it is with how you ship items and how you describe items. I have tons of my girls' outgrown clothes to list, so I will probably do that after C'mas. I have made 200.00 total since I started selling three weeks ago (this is alot to me LOL) and they were mostly books. Apparently since I have not gotten rid of a book in over 10 years, most are OOP and HTF and get really good prices. Sorry to babble on, but I am excited to add more money to my WDW vacation fund for next year!! I never would have tried selling without the DIS ebay threads, so thanks to my fellow DIS ebayers!!

A few years back, when I was cruising Ebay for princess clothes, I noticed it was a LOT easier (less expensive) to buy right before christmas. FWIW.

I had a bad week on ebay last week. Hardly any bids. All my auctions start really low and I am very fair on shipping.

I am working on putting a bunch of stuff up right now. I am hoping that with people in the "christmas shopping" mode that they will do well. I am sure anything in the past week or so may have been slow due to the Thanksgiving Holiday.

I have the same two items up for auction right now that are ending today that I had listed the week before to end last Sunday that got no bids. (Make sense?) I started them at a lower price this week, but now they are both above the starting prices I tried to sell them at last week. Both are toys that are new in the boxes. That's the only stuff I try to sell at this time of the year--things that could be used for gifts. Personally, Ebay used to be great to sell clothes--a few times I got more than what I paid for Gymboree, Gap etc. Now, the prices are so low it's not worth it to me. The descriptions, etc would just take too much time for what you get IMO. I just donate them and take the tax write off which is way higher than I would be able to sell them for.

I have some auctions up that are ending today (4 hours) and are doing poorly. I have a bunch of brand new with tags Lands End Christmas dresses and sweaters that I picked up on clearance last year - not selling.... Plus some toys new in box (Dora) - not selling. I have a couple of bids and 0-3 watchers on the rest of the items. I am really disappointed. This was my last batch of auctions before my Disney trip and I was really hoping to make an additional $75-$100 to finish paying off my hotel :( :(

I had a bunch of stuff end yesterday - pathetic. I have 5 auctions ending today in about 4 hours, that keep going up & up! I hope they don't stop. Maybe the buyers are back after Thanksgiving - we'll see.

Within hours of my auctions started I already had two bids and several buyers. Now 2 hours after they started 4 have bids and there are watchers on over half of my stuff. I am a happy camper. Hope it keeps up.
