Anyone else receive park hoppers in form of a wrist band rather than actual tickets?

The person did not say. But perhaps as one of the people above mentioned, it was not actually a park hopper band as they thought, but just a bracelet. But it does sound like the bracelet method is what they are striving for sometime in the near future.

The poster on the other board has updated his/her post to say that the friend did not in fact receive wristband park hoppers but some sort of package perk like the "Strive Today Power Band". This wristband is a souvenir, has nothing to do with ticketing.

Several of the waterpark type resorts have been using the "wristbands" for quite a while. The wristbands are very light, small in size, and very durable. Wear one for a few minutes and forget it is there. It can be used for park entry, room entry, used for food/souvineer purchases, or all of the above. We have stayed at the "Great Wolf Lodge" south of Seattle a couple times for three days. After three days of waterslides, pools, and showers, the bands still look new. I have wondered for some time when Disney would make the switch....:cool1:

I think the person was mistaken. Many travel agents are including in their packages "Strive Today Power Band ($30 value) for each adult 3-Day or longer discount Disneyland ticket included in your Disney package."

Interesting.

Really, not everyone can do that. I can barely do that. DH wears a watch ALL the time, and he is constantly shaking the watch down his wrist b/c it bugs him (which then bugs me). Wearing the bands for the holiday parties causes me to be *constantly* aware of my wrist. I can not wear those silicon type bracelets. I *can* wear metal bracelets, but not always (depends on mood), and rubber/plastic bracelets just drive me crazy.

So seriously, NOT everyone can wear them and forget it. Be glad you can.

I am sure the good people at Disney will have an alternat plan for people that can not wear a wristband. A lot of people like the lanyards, some people might be happy just putting it in their pocket, fanny pack, or back pack. They will have alternatives to be sure....:cool1:

I guess it depends on how the bracelet is made... the ones we get all all-inclusives still look brand new after 10 days of wearing... and dd gets used to them every time she has to wear it.

I agree...we've done AI and they don't bother me or anyone in our party, kids included, at all. They don't feel icky after wearing awhile. Much ado about nothing IMO. I'm sure Disney will have an alternate ticket choice for those who just will not want to use them, but really, I bet they will be no big deal and folks will transition to them rather quickly.
