For the second time this week I am pulling an all-nighter with homework. Four weeks into school and this is my third so far. You may think it is poor time management...nope I trully have this much homework every single night and frequently have to decide what I can't complete. This is my "break" five minutes so I don't go crazy.

I understand college is meant to be hard, a challenge, but how can we be expected to perform well and learn everything effectively when we are at a constant state of sleep-deprivation. Tuition is rising 5%+ every year, 13% this semester for my university, and we are forced to get jobs to suppliment.

I don't mind the lack of a social life, love life or family communication. I wish I could talk to my family more besides on the cell phone driving from class to work or another class but that is the only time I can squeeze them in. Multi-tasking is a great skill but I want more than 3 hours sleep a night.

*Ding* 5 minutes is up. I wish the rest of you luck!

WOW,,what courses are you taking? What is your Major?

My son double Majored in Chemistry, and Computer Science,,,and he also worked at the school, in The Chem Lab.. part time and was on a bowling team three different nights of the week> Along with this, him and his girlfriend, went out often......he is now in school for his Masters in Chem. and teaching a Chem class 3 days a week and bowling three nights a week.... and I can say for sure he never pulled an ALL NIGHTER..

You need to tell those TEACHERS to give ya a break,,,,tell them FIVE MINS on the DIS BOARDS is NO WHERE near enough..lol

Good luck and keep up the good work,,,,at least your sticking with it!!

And be careful with that talking and driving (I KNOW I KNOW,,a MOM for sure LOL)

Thats my daily life....oh and I just found out I have to find a new place to live sometime this semester. Thrilling!!!

I don't date or have a boyfriend. I dont think I could fit one in unless he likes to have study dates at the coffee shop a lot.

Maybe you could find a boyfriend that works at the coffee shop and kill two birds with one stone (and maybe get free coffee)! :teeth:

Wow what a course load. I was Interior Design and had many all-nighters, but not this early in the semester. It was usually towards the end when all the BIG projects were due. I'm sure your drinking lots of caffeine right? Just make sure to drink plenty of water too so that you don't dehydrate. That happened to me one night. I got so sick that I couldn't finish my project and couldn't go to class. I had to beg someone to take me to the health center. The nurse told me to alternate between mountain dew and water. Good luck!!!

My friend does work at the coffee house so I get free tea. He lets me try out them in the french press. Mmmm. It is a good place to go. I know I am not the only one. Since the first week everyone has said how this semester just seems so much worse than the others. Just stress from the beginning. I don't know what it is. Today I finished 2 presentations so that is a large load off of me. Just one more for now.

Do all the homework have turn in for a grade if so do it all. If the homework does not have be grade not do it at all when have time.

When I was in college I did all homework that had be turn in for a grade first then worry about the rest when I get time to.

That work in my computer and math class that was easy for me to pass and get all A and B in.

I spent all my time to trying to pass Comp I.

I would have been out college soon if did not have take English and Technical Writing:rolleyes:  :earseek: .

In college, EVERYONE eventually pulls an allnighter. These classes are just too hard to not to sometimes! I don't think it's anything a teacher can help, it's just life...

I am partially, tonight. I have a Greek test tomorrow, and I can only absorb a bit at a time, so I have to cut up my studying into small chunks. Which takes longer, but gives me breaks to DIS too!

I think I'll head to bed late, and rise early to hit Starbucks =)

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!

Well 2 projects down and one more to go. I felt some of the weight lift on Thursday, much needed. It all pays off though, I was inducted to the College of Education program today at a ceremony. Now I am no longer referred to as a "student" but as a "teacher candidate". I am now called Ms. Pyle by all and have a nametag! The little joys of life I tell ya.
