Anyone else NOT traveling this year?

No traveling this year. Or last year. I am hoping for spring of next year but things don't look promising...might have to postpone things to 2012. Ugh...

We are not going anywhere this summer. I am actually glad about that. We do it every summer. The jet lag is just too much. The stress of flights and reservations is just too much. I always manage to get very sick, ruining the vacation. Staying home will avoid all that.

We're in between right now

We were not supposed to go anywhere this year. In reality, even though we have teh money, we shoudl not be going because my dad does want to retire eventually (he's 60) but We have been through h*ll and back with medical problems since september so my dad decided that since we havent been to WDW since dec. 2007 adn we need it. So he had me book a trip for the summer.

Just found out though, I might need to have brain surgery and IVIG treatments beginning in a couple of months so we have to see what happens.

I really need to have the surgery before July 1st because I am covered 100% until than but I am in school until June 4th so we have a 3 week window to have the surgery done. If we can have it done before July 1st, we will probably still go because as my dad said, no one in our family can function anymore without a vacation. We're all so strung out at this point.

If I can't have the surgery until after July 1st adn we have to pay our $8,000 Deductabile plus all the other possible bills...teh trip is off. So we will know in about a month what is happening.

We're lucky. My dad is basically guaranteed his job as long as we still have an airforce because he is one of only a handful of engineers that knows how to do what he does. But it just blows my mind that with a 6 figure salary, that because of medical bills we don't really have discretionary income. It always makes me think about everyone who is not as lucky as we are.
