I'm a little bummed and mad at myself.

Our trip is less than 2 weeks away, and I'm still carrying around my "winter fluff".

I had every intention of losing this extra 5-7 pounds for my trip, and I haven't, now I'm not happy.

Please do not think that I'm being vain, it's just that I usually feel pretty decent in a swim suit, or shorts, and now I feel chunky and like I want to wear a cover-up all the time.

I've been under alot of stress, my mom passed away suddenly in November, and I'm in nursing school, which is really hard, and I have 3 kids and a husband, and a house to run.

Anyway, thanks for letting me vent. I'll have to run out and buy bigger shorts and have a great time at Disney anyway!!

Weight is a stressful issue. I have gained a ton in the last two years, as a result of some medication plus my compulsive eating. It can be downright depressing but I remind myself regularly that if being overweight is the biggest problem in my life, I am darn lucky.

WDW is enjoyed by people of all shapes, sizes, colors, etc. I assure you there will be larger and smaller folks at the pools, etc. Get some comfy clothes that fit and enjoy the time with your family. You've had a stressful year and you deserve a break!

I agree... I too have tried to lose weight. I had a baby in Nov and even though I am back to my pre-pregnancy weight I feel VERY FLABBY.... I started Weight Watchers and for the past 2 months I have cheated like crazy... I eat when I get nervous.

I would really like to lose a couple pounds the next 2 weeks just to make me feel better..

Agreed. Go and have fun and enjoy yourself!

You have less than two weeks before your trip. Do not obsess about losing weight before the trip. You are not being fair to yourself. You can, though, start walking to build up your endurance, if that is an issue.

Go ahead and find clothes and a bathing suit that fit you well now. Have fun on this trip and forget about the extra pounds. Face your weightloss issues when you return. Don't let the extra pounds cause you not to fully enjoy the trip.

I agree. I have only managed to take off 8 of the 35 pounds I had planned before my trip. I stressed over it the same way you have. I know I still can't handle the idea of it. I think, "aahh the photos." Then I realize there could be things that are a lot worse like not being able to go at all. :D

Hi,
My family went at christmas 2003....I started to loose weight at Curves then about a month before we left i gain half of it back....I understand how weight can affect your life by what to eat or wear, very stressful on a daily bases....I learned something when i went to WDW everyone there isn't there to judge you....People there are just regular people like you and me...
I thought the heck with it i'm here with my family it's suppose to be a vacation....You are here to have a good time don't ruin it by thinking about your weight the whole time...When it was time to eat i ate what i wanted i just didn't over do it....I'm not a water drinker but tried to drink water during the day instead of pop....Also with all the walking you will be doing in the parks you probbly wont gain anything or you will be losing some...I'm a choco holic so i ate alot of desert because i had to try everything with chocolate but surprising i didn't gain anything when i was on my vacation i think it was all the walking....I wouldn't worry about it have a good time with your family that's what it's all about.....

I agree with the previous poster who said go out and buy a bathing suit and some clothes that fit you properly and enjoy your trip. You will feel so much better if you have some nice new clothes that don't make you feel self conscious. I also find that when I feel good in my clothes, I feel better about myself and I don't eat as much. I have to buy a few new pairs of shorts myself, so don't feel too bad. :D
Have a fantastic time.
Amy
