Starting last year, DLR began delaying the release of the "great" AP rates. A bunch of us on the DIS were waiting for the October AP rates to be released (I guess last year they would have been called 'AP9,' but I can't recall) in 2009...and those rates did not show up on the AP hotel calendar until September!! Furthermore, it was almost mid-September! It seemed to me - and I could be wrong - like DLR wanted to wait until all the other discounts cycled out (like the 'get 5 for 3' deal, for example) before releasing any great rates to AP holders - probably in hopes they could get a decent number of bookings at regular rack rates.
My AP expired last year (though I'm getting another one this week), and I haven't been keeping up with the time frame in which the rates are released on the calendar and how close to the actual month in question the release of those rates is, but it seems like it's the same story as last year.
I just got a PIN offer for $163 at the PPH, and unless some good AP rates come out by the time I book something, I will probably use that PIN. It's a lot better than the current 20% off deal that's advertised on the DLR website.
