I was watching the cnn news last night and they mentioned that they are expecting the hurricane season to be a lot worse this year starting 1st June. Having not travelled in July /August before I am quite worried about this.Any advice ?:scared1:

i wouldnt worry about it, if you do -and me- happen to be there when a hurricane hits, the best thing to do is stay inside. also if you have a car and you hear of an impending hurricane, it might be as well to make sure you have plenty of gas in your car, as afterwards you may not be able to get any from the gas stations.

Dont forget recently the Tornado in London or earthquake in Kent -I know where I'd rather be!!!

Me too!:thumbsup2 Apparently the hurricane season goes thru a 25 year cycle and we are in the middle of a bad one! So what do we do - book a DCL cruise in September!!! We like to live dangerously... :woohoo:

And Obi is most definitely a manic poster - I wouldn't have it any other way... ;)

Who can predict the weather? It is a forecast. Hurricane season always starts 1st June and ends 1st November I think - on the dot of course.:)

This is putting the kiss of death on my holiday but anyway. When we first went in July I expected heavy downpours every single afternoon, did we experience this, no (probably lucky) but the same happened last year. This year we have been forced into August. We always holiday the last 2 weeks in July and whether we stay in this country or in Orlando the weather has always been fantastic. The last time we ventured into August in this country it poured down so I am expecting rain when we go for the first time in August. However, it won't detract from the holiday because we are in Orlando and that is the best place in the world to be.

So don't worry just enjoy your planning and the excitement, you will have a fantastic time.

We watched the various american weather channels for their info on predictions and I have to say that the link Obi Wan gave us is usually pretty accurate. Don't worry about it it's just a normal part of life in Florida just as other places get "the rainy season" they get the odd hurricane or tropical storm but most don't make landfall in Florida.
:lmao: Just remember we get way stronger winds here most days that they would dream of , we still go about our daily routine :lmao: It has me in stitches when they say "be careful out there today we have winds predicted at 15-25 miles per hour" I mean.. please ..get a grip... that's nothing compared to british weather:goodvibes :thumbsup2 :goodvibes
