We leave on Monday!! I'm REALLY looking forward to going but the trip was scheduled before a wonderful suprise of a pregnancy. So, now I'm sick ALL day long (10.5 weeks) and throw up about twice a day. Then, 2 weeks ago my 17 month old fell off our bed and fractured her leg so it's in a full cast. :sad1: So, this vacation isn't QUITE what we planned on :lmao: still looking forward to it though :)

Anyway, anyone got any fav. tips on morning sickness?

Morning sickness is awful!!

Morning (or all day and night) sickness with my first pregancy was the worst! Nothing helped.

I found with my second pregnancy that sucking on sour lemon drops (or orange ones) helped.

With my third, I ate when I first started feeling nauseous and that seemed to help. I think I actually threw up less that time (but I also gained a lot of weight).

I think the most important thing is listen to what your body is telling you it needs and get plenty of rest. Just keep thinking it will all be over before you know it!!

Good luck with your trip!! :cheer2:

Uggh. Sorry about morning sickness and the cast. But Congrats on the pregnancy!! My daughter broke her arm when she was 2. Drs said breaks are more likely than sprains when they are that young..but heal quickly... She wasn't bothered by it and it healed in 3 weeks but it certainly made me feel awful.

I had morning sickness with both pregnancys..but maybe not as bad. I never actually threw up. Gingerale was a godsend for me. I just sipped it all day long. I also tried the motion sickness bands, which worked a bit. Never letting my stomach get too empty also helped. (although its a good way to put on 10 lbs in the 1st trimester too) :lmao:

You may want to see if your OB can prescribe something if its really bad..

Even though its not what you envisioned, hope you have a wonderful time!!

I had horrible morning sickness with my pregnancies, and have visited WDW twice while pregnant. With my first pregnancy, my morning sickness didn't start until 13 weeks, but I hadn't gained any weight yet, and then I lost 8 pounds in just a few days because I was vomiting constantly. My Dr. prescribed Phenergan. It's actually an antihistamine, but it works great on morning sickness. I was allowed to take it up to 4 times a day, but I would take it once in the morning before I got out of bed, and I rarely needed to repeat the dose during the day. I've heard some of the OBs that I work with say that it doesn't work that well, but it sure did the trick for me. Remember to use lots of sunscreen since pregnant women burn worse. (I forgot about that on my first trip to WDW while pregnant, and DH ended up hunting high and low for solarcaine and I spent 2 days laying in bed on my stomach with a cool cloth on my back because I got so burned at Blizzard Beach.)

The last time we went to WDW I was pg with DS2 and was nauseaous all day long (although luckily I never threw up). I survived the 18 hour car ride down and back, plus walking in the parks by sucking on gummy grapefruit slices (not the pink sour ones, these were white and just a little tart). They really seemed to help calm my stomach.

Also, think about what sits well in your stomach now. I'm a very picky eater and when we go out I typically order chicken fingers or ribs, which is great at Disney because they have chicken fingers all over. Except that when I was pg, chicken fingers turned my stomach, so I had to think about what I was able to eat (rotisserie chicken, popcorn and fruit mainly) and then go through all the menus on allearsnet.com to see where I could eat for that trip (and type up a list to carry with me). It really helped because I needed to eat ASAP when I started to feel hungry, and this way I didn't have to search through a bunch of food places to find something appealing (also the smell of food cooking turned my stomach as well, so I could just stay outside and DH would order the food and bring it out to me).

Good luck with your trip and congratulations on your pg!

Congrats on the pregnancy!! We just got back from Disney and I was 11 1/2 weeks pregnant at the time; we took it alot slower than usual and had plenty of snack breaks---the kids actually enjoyed this trip even more than previously. I asked my OB before leaving about taking Dramamine and he said that would be fine to help with the nausea and any motion sickness. He even said I could ride some of the rides and we went over the ones that were a no-no. Enjoy your trip; I wish I was going again this week:rotfl:

It was over 3 years ago now, but I went to WDW 8 weeks pregnant and I had been miserable sick before it, and after too (for many months). Still at WDW I felt the best. All the fresh air, good food everywhere and fun stuff to do. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

Also my Doctor gave me Zofran and that helped a lot. I didn't need it as much at WDW, but did when I got home. It made a big difference. :thumbsup2

I haven't done Disney with morning sickness, but last year I did Hawaii with morning sickness (all day). Distraction and fresh air definitely help, so you may feel better there. What made me feel better was to make sure I had something in the room to eat as soon as I woke up, and always had something with me to eat. That way I wouldn't have to scramble to find something when I started to feel nausea coming on. (I felt better eating--gained 17 lbs in the first half because of it, but I didn't miss any work either.) Preggie Pop Drops also helped. You can find them at Motherhood Maternity or BrU. The other thing is to not let yourself get overtired. I always found it was worse when I was tired.

OMG...I can't believe that I just posted about this today before I saw your post!!

I am in the same boat as you...I haven't read the answers yet but hope there are some helpful hints. I am almost 15 weeks now and thought it would be gone by now.

Good luck!
