Just received confirmation for a two bedroom at VWL from April 17-April 24. Any one else crazy enough to go at Easter? And if so, what are your tips for dealing with the very large crowds? We were at WDW two Easters ago and it was extremely crowded. Unfortunately, we must vacation to coincide with school vacations.

I was in Vero Beach the past two Easters and my only suggestion is to get up early if you want a table! The weather is absolutely perfect (I believe that April is the dryest month in Florida).

Enjoy your trip

We were at WDW April '99 offsite before we bought DVC and April '00 at BWV. The crowds were unbeliveable, but the park hours were longer and they had EE nights. Even with a brand new baby were were in the MK till midnight several nights. We would get up and do 3-4 hours in the parks first thing, go to the pool or a water park in the afternoon (while baby napped), out to dinner in early pm and then back to a park most nights for an hour or two. We had a wonderful time on both trips.

I waited too long to consider going in April this year and can't find a 2BR at BWV.....so I'm considering waiting till August. I'm also waiting for Southwest Air's April schedule to come out for the fares from Providence. I don't want to pay what's currently out there.

We'll be at the BCV's for the first time this Easter.(they are booked up already for this week!) I can't wait to see them. We have been there at this time and it wasn't too bad. Just always getting to the parks first thing, taking the break and returning in the evening. Forget about getting to any parks late in the morning, its just impossible to get through the crowds. We'll be there from the 16th to the 26th!:D

mmmcq, you should try the wait list, we did and got our 2 br in a week. We are also trying for Southwest, I call 2 or 3 times a day!

We'll be at VWL from April 13-21 (POFQ on the 11th and 12th). I have no choice but to go when the school breaks are. I figure it will be busy, but with a plan and wise use of FP we should be ok.My parents are going about a week before us and then they will join us at VWL (I really can't wait to see thier faces after they'll have spent a week in a regular room!). I think the plan for us is to do as much as we can, but not be disappointed because it will be crowded. Does anyone know how the Easter break crowds compare to July 4th? We were there for July fourth and it was managable, so if it isn't too much worse then we should be alright.

I tried the waitlist approach this past summer when I made reservations at Vero last April. It didn't work - we not only didn't get the 2BR we wanted, we couldn't even get a 1BR for length of stay. We had a not so great 1BR for 2 nights then had to move to an Inn room and then were supposed to move back again to a 1BR. I said no, but was miserable anyway. They overbooked the resort by 2-3 1BR and 2-3 2BR and couldn't fix it. We got shafted. I won't be trusting the waitlist approach for a long, long time. I'm only going to take reservations that I'm happy with from the get-go. With 3 kids including a toddler, I can't take the risk again of having to move in the middle of a trip. I wasted so much time packing and unpacking.

On the Soutwest Airlines schedule, this is the word I received from Southwest Airlines about their April schedules by email from Customer Service yesterday. This should help you.

"The tentative "Up For Sale" date for travel from March 9, 2003 to April 4, 2003 is October 17, 2002.

There is no tentative date yet, but I believe travel for the rest of April should be available in early to mid November. I hope this information helps! "
