I'm so excited! Our tickets came the other day and we are going to the 3pm taping! I just hope my parents get back in time to watch our daughter. I know J-Lo is going to be performing, but they haven't said who else will be there. I can't wait!!!!!

Nope, she never called and said she was giving me a trip darn it!:rotfl: I was sure hoping she would call.

Rachel -

Did you just receive your tickets in the mail or did you get a call also that you were going to get tickets? Just curious, since I requested tix the first day available and have never heard anything. Thanks!

I did get a call a couple of weeks ago. It was one of those weird calls that I thought was a telemarketer and almost hung up. It was one that didn't connect right away and thought I was going to get something weird, but I'm glad I hung on. They called and asked if I was still wanting to go and then said they'd send out the tickets. I just got them a few days ago, so it was cutting it pretty close.

Hi, I requested tickets for the March 30th show and they called me the next day saying we had "guarenteed seats". I was shocked. I really didn't think they would call. Our tickets say must be checked in by 9:30 am for 12pm taping. But the woman who called me said to be there at 9:30. So now I'm not sure what time to get there if we have to be already checked in by 9:30. And all VIP,guaranteed, and standby are supposed to check in at the groove so that could be 1000 people. Does anyone know when I should get there? Thanks for your help.

Well, I guess you were the lucky group that got sun. We were the 3pm taping and it rained the whole time. I was a little disappointed that J-Lo was the only celeb on the show. I was really hoping Ellen would give something away. Does anyone know who was on the show at today's taping? I can't wait to watch it this week. The one I went to will be aired on Tuesday. Even with the rain and the 2 hours of sitting there, I still had fun.

My friends and I went to the 12pm taping and had a blast. It was really really hot though. She strted spraying a water hose at the audience and we were in the 4th row so she sprayed us right in the face but we were glad because it cooled us off. Our guests were Howie Mandel, Joey Fatone, Lynard Skynard. It was one huge dance party! We stayed to see J-Lo but it started pouring so we left. It was all worth the wait!

I just had to say I got back from Orlando just now. We got on Saturday. Ellen gave out free 2 park annual passes to EVERYONE in the audience. We had sooooooooooooo much fun. We look like lobsters though! 2 hours in the sun can do that!!

That kind of ticks me off. We sat in the rain all that time and we got nothing but ponchos. Why didn't she give passes to the guests at the other show. Plus we had to sit through 4 local interviews, and they kept telling us not to leave. I think a lot of people were fed up and just left anyway.

You're lucky. How long did you have to sit in The Groove. We were there for about 3 hours and then the taping took about 2 to 2 1/2 hours.

Well we didn't get into the groove. We had stand-by tickets. We had to line up and stand in line. We got there around 10 am. They started taking stand by people at 12:20. Taping was at 2:10. We were given a bottle of water as we walked out. It was so hot that during one of the 'commercial breaks' the team flooded the audience and handed out a 2nd bottle of water. Our taping went flawless except for John Meloncamp. He messed up a song and had to replay it. Overall I was very unimpressed with her. She didn't even acknowledge the crowd except what you see on tv. During the breaks she didn't as much even thank us for being there. It was rather frustrating. Now I have to call and see if i can 'tack on' my free year to my current annual passes!

We also attended Saturday's show. We all have "farmer's tans" (actually burns on our left side:confused3

I agree with palmbeachguy, I was a bit bummed that she didn't talk to us during the breaks. I know that she was quite busy on most breaks, but there was one that she was there but did not acknowledge the audience.

We had fun anyway though, plus I still enjoy her show. We got to there around 11 AM then sat in The Groove till about 12:45 or so. I was happy with the way that they did it though. I remember when we went to the tapings of Rosie's shows, we had to stand in line for a good 5 hours or so. Speaking of Rosie, I know alot of people don't like her, but we enjoyed her show. We also went to a taping of the View in NYC, and she was the only host that mingled with the audience during breaks. That's why I was bummed that Ellen didn't, I just went in expecting it.

Oh, and you don't even have to get your passes till April 2008. So if your current pass expires before then you don't really have to worry about it.

I didn't get tickets (again) this year but I agreed to go over Friday morning with my brother just to upgrade his pass to premier and say "bye" to BTTF.

Crowds were much better than I expected, we ended upgrading his pass, did BTTF, Mummy and MIB in about an hour and a half but when we were leaving I was not impressed at how they handled the lines of people waiting for Ellen -must have been standby or for the second taping.

We left Islands around 11:30am and attempted to get to Valet to leave but we could not get through City Walk. Just past Margaritaville, I finally asked security how to get through and we were told we had to go back around the entire lagoon to get the 100 ft we needed to go. I can't believe they didn't have signs or anything. When I mentioned to a security guard that a sign would have been helpful to those of us leaving the park, she laughed and said Universal would never do that :confused3 It made me mad but I'm a healthy 30-something, I could not imagine telling someone who had a hard time walking they had to make that trek.

I think that's the first big complaint I've had after a day a Universal :hippie:
