Going to HHI this weekend and wondering if we'll see any DISers there :flower3:

We've only been there once, about 4 years ago (before we became DVC members), so any recommendations for places to: eat, play golf & tennis, and anything else would be appreciated. It'll be DH & I, DD14 & DS11 :goodvibes

We were there two weeks ago (sigh). Loved the resort, the beach-we asked "locals" for restaurant ideas-we ate at The Grumpy Grouper-great food, family atmosphere, One Hot Mama's for BBQ on their recomendations and had great (reasonably priced) meals. The Old Oyster Factory is popular with tourists and locals-a little pricier, but great food. If you get there around 6:30 and sit outside you will see a fantastic sunset.
The kayak trips from the resort are popular and alot of fun. If you have rain or an overcast day (and I hope you do not!) go to Savannah and take a trolley tour-eat at Paula Dean's.
You will get lots of info when you check in-one guide even has menus. Have a wonderful time-we're already planning our next trip! :)

You lucky thing!!
We like San Miguels, right there at Shelter Cove. Good mexican food, and usually someone playing guitar. Lots of fun to sit outside. Have a great time!

We check in tomorrow and come home Monday. Weather forecast looks great, sunny & low-mid 80's :cool2:

DD14 is on the High School tennis team, so we've already found a list of public courts to check out. DH, DS11 & I, all play golf. We're hoping to get at least one round in.

Any other suggestions or recommendations?

We also love to rent the bikes from the resort and ride all over the island. Check out the dolphin tours with Captain Scott, you can do this through the resort. We have had good meals at Hudson's, and some people like the Sea Shack, both are a drive away from the resort. Didn't have good meals at Scott's or the Kingfisher or the Ocean Grill right there at Shelter Cove. If you go to the end of the island, we had a good meal at the Wreck of the Salty dog. There is a thread on the DIS for HHI restaurants, lots of good info. Have a great time. We also enjoyed the Tuesday night fireworks and food at the resort. Not sure if they have that in the fall, also enjoyed the Lowcountry boil at the Beach House.:)
