Anyone Else Going In The Last Week In August?

Brave souls all of you. August is Inferno month - walk out of your hotel into a wall of firey humidity...

But any Disney is better than no Disney. :thumbsup2

We are going Aug 24 - 31. We are DVC members but we are taking advantage of the free dining promo and staying at All Star Movies. I hope the resort is good! Anything to get my annual Disney fix!

We'll be at CBR from Aug 24 to 28 - first time in the August heat! Seeing as it's not looking like we'll be getting much of a summer in southern Ontario this year.... This will be a short bonus getaway for us since we already had our Disney trip in Feb and Mar. We bought DVC annual passes for the first time, so we want to get our money's worth, and couldn't resist the Free Dining!

So far we are planning to drive but if we can find a cheap flight out of Buffalo (like some of you already have!), we may be tempted to grab it. That way we can add a few days onto both ends! :thumbsup2

Flying out of buffalo on August 23 and back home on the 31

We're flying out that day from there too!:thumbsup2 Did you already book your flight? We're trying for Southwest first flight non-stop, but it's still up there in price.

Check out AirTran...I just booked(on Wed.) my flight Aug 29 - Sept 7 and got non-stop flights for $62 each way. They had lots available on many different days.

Oh ya....it so is. Even better the flights were soooooo cheap. $556 for 4 people.

Wow!!! We flew last June for the 4 of us for just under $800 and I thought THAT was a great deal. That's fantastic.

It's funny.. I think about comparing that to flying out of Toronto instead of Buffalo and the costs for flying with Air Canada are about 3-4 times the amount. Just makes me shake my head that we can get a huge difference in price driving an extra 1.5 hours. :sad2:

However I'm super glad that we can get awesome deals out of Buffalo. I don't know if we could afford a trip to Disney if we had to pay $2000 - $2500 just for the flights out of Toronto. :scared1:

We are going Aug 18 to 28 for 10 days, staying at Pop Century. We are driving to Buffalo from Toronto. Booked the flights last September. $836 for 4 people from expedia.ca:goodvibes

I have a thread going on the transportation board that has turned into a bit of a bebate about the cost of flying. Someone posted yesterday mentioning that the OP was Canadian but flying froma US city. Was it perhaps cost??? My answer of course was 'yes'. I broke it down for them and I realized that the saving is just what you stated.

I agree, I could hardly travel if I had to pay the prices out of YYZ. My brother used to work for one of the carriers in YYZ and I got great deals through him being an airport employee but those days are gone. I checked last year with one of his friends that is still there and they just don't have the breaks that they used to.

This is the best price I have ever paid out of BUF. A few years ago I could have had 4 tickets on Delta for $502 but the flight was at 5am a day earlier than we were planning to go. We did think about it but a couple hours later when we had agreed to do it, it was gone. I think that year I ended up paying about $750 which is the most I have paid yet. Actually, that entire trip was the most i have ever paid. I have learned a lot since then and now my trips are pretty cheap. In fact since we were not planning a trip this year (until FD was announced) once this was a possibility I looked around at cruises and all inclusives but this trip ends up being a lot less money.
