I hate this time of year! The days are short, it is cold, my skin is dry and itchy, and I am scared to death to drive in snow. Anyone else out there feel this way? I just want to sleep through the winter like a big ole bear. I have enough fat stored to snooze away, now if only everyone would let me be.....;)

That would be me. I think I get light deprived and start feeling antsy in my own skin...I long to shed my layers (literally) and go barefoot, but it is 20 degrees! However, Red Sox Exhibition Baseball starts Wednesday night, and I will be listening! There is hope! :)

I do. I'm so depressed and have absolutely no motivation or ambition. I honestly don't know what to do with myself right now. DH tried all day to get me to go out with my friends, but I told him it wouldn't be any fun for me, so I've been sitting around bored.

I can't wait for some sunshine.

I think it is getting worse as I get older. Give me the heat and humidity any day!

I feel the exact same way. I couldn't imagine living in the north with the winters they have. We occasionally get 1 or 2 inches of snow here (in Arkansas) and it melts away within a day or 2. I'd hate to have it around any longer than that.

Is 32 too young to retire to Florida?;)

Well mine blues are a little different. I love sitting inside and watching it snow all night. But the snow and frozen ground realy slows down my work so that is bad...

I want some 80 degree days with lots of sunshine. Last week was such a great change after those days of 6 degrees. I want winter to leave, too.

I don't. I love the winters in Maine. Makes me feel all cozy, and I love sweaters. I love a good old fashioned snow storm too. Now don't get me wrong I love the other seasons as well (though I could skip mud season). Summer is my favorite (all 3 weeks we get of it) I love going bare foot and being in the sun. But the winter blues don't get me. I know a lot of people who have a hard time with it and I do feel bad for them though because winter is a long spell here.

December was a horrible month for me. I wasn't myself at all. I wrote about it on the TB last night.

Ever since, I've just been, blah-ish, but better.

I hate the winter and I'm in Calif. I can't imagine living in the cold areas most of you do. I get cold real easy so I can be freezing at 60. I just love it when it gets to be summer and 80-100degs. Luckily, being in Calif, we have 80 degree days off and on all through the winter! (few and far between sometimes)

I love snow, but it's no fun when it's just plain cold. That's just depressing.

This is me big time, especially this winter. :sad2: I have some other things going on, too, and it just hasn't been a good winter. I have a hard time to get motivated to go places, but last night a friend asked me if I wanted to go out tonight and I jumped at that chance! :yay: I'm more than willing to do that sort of thing, but errands, etc, are hard for me to do.

I have a light therapy light that seems to be helping a little. I think. :rotfl: Don't know what I'd be like without it. :scared:

Oh, is that what I have? There a big frozen patch in my driveway this morning leftover from the other day..so I went to dump some rock salt that DH left outside; it came it out in a big grapefruit size ball. I kicked it.. dang thing rolled down the walk under step..sigh... I hate ice.. Weatherman said it's going snow tomorrow.. into Monday morning.
DH is in Florida. Not for fun.. his dad became was very ill and had to rush down... but... he just called and his dad got released from the hospital..he's much better and his dad talked to on the phone and is going to make sure that DH gets out to play golf in the sun..one of these days. Somehow it didn't make me smile. SUN? That's that yellow thing in the sky. I saw a picture of it.
I can't decide what to do for "fun" tomorrow while I wait for the snow.. should I work on the tax prep stuff? Or go out and try to find more bags of ice melt junk.. everyone was out of it today. Oh. I have to get gas for snowthrower.. he DID call someone to come do this driveway, didn't he? he did.. I hope so... Hmmm...oh, goody..I just remember he drove the 4x4 to the airport and left it in the parking lot.
Uh-oh. Maybe I oughta just gather up salt shakers and hope for an early spring?

Right now it is -35 and I am miserable. We had to go into town today and it sucked!! We all froze.:sad2: I cannot wait to move from this frozen state.

:scared1: -35? I can't even imagine!

I completely empathize with everyone about the lack of motivation to do anything. I would be content to just stay home and do nothing. I have to force myself to go to work, and I get DH to do the errands most of the time. I am tired of being sad!

I am sorry.

I've had my DH do more errands, which he actually enjoys, for the most part since he works at home and doesn't get out much. But the funny thing is that he thinks if a food item is on sale that he should buy it. I can't find anything in our pantry because it's so stuffed with stuff! But we don't always have what we need to make a meal. :rotfl:

:rotfl2:

DH, unless I give him a very detailed list (which he will still call and question me about), would only buy junkfood. A person cannot live on Little Debbie alone.

My DH doesn't do too bad in the store, but he has a hard time finding things. Rather than call me to ask exactly where it is, he'll come home and say they were sold out. :rotfl2: Also, he seems to have a brain fart about which brands we like. We're pretty brand particular, and it surprises me that he'll pick up the wrong brands when he's just as picky as I am.

Sunday is our shopping day, so we like to go out together for it. :thumbsup2

Mine enjoys making out the grocery list. I try to add what I think we need, which he will buy, but he adds to many of his selections. Yesterday he went out with our 16yo to do errands. BIG mistake. My DH also knows that I haven't had much of an appetite lately and have lost weight, so he's trying to buy food that I like. He forgets that I like fruit, too. :rotfl: And I don't want to eat junk food. But of course when I'm not doing the shopping I can't do the complaining, so I am doing more and more of the grocery shopping, which is good for me. ;)
