Okay, we are leaving first thing tomorrow morning, and I have butterflies in my stomach! I've been waiting for this day to come for so long, and now I am not even excited!!! I just don't understand.... :confused3

Does this happen to anyone else? Please tell me once I get there that I won't feel this way!

Yes, I always get nervous. I am usually afraid that we will forget something vital like airline tickets or money. Or that we will somehow leave the house unlocked.

I am also always afraid that someone will get sick. We are going in late Sept, and with three kids, I am already nervous that someone will get sick right before we go.

Have a great time. Say "Hi" to Captain Jack for me. ;)

I do get butterflies, but I think it is more out of excitement. I find it helpful to take a Benadryl the night before. I think it relaxes me enough to help me sleep and calms me down to relax my nerves.

I'm with you. :wave2: I'm leaving in the morning as well. I always get that feeling the night before. You should see me right now zipping and unzipping the bags for the 1,000th time. :) Wait, let me check one more time.... :rotfl2: I don't fully relax until I am checked into my room. Then, it's on! :cool1:

We're leaving early Sunday morning.

I have packing and must-do lists that I keep checking and rechecking.

This evening before it got dark, I forced myself to load our luggage in the car so I wouldn't mess with it anymore. Of course, I still have four bags plus the cooler to mess with in the house.

1. brown Mickey icon bag (that matches our luggage) with laundry stuff (we'll be away from home 16-17 days) and little junk that makes me prettier and life easier
2. Mickey backpack with all of the toys for DD18 and I (IPOD, PocketPC, Nintendo DS, all the assorted power cords for both in the car and in the room)
3. dark blue Mickey bag with all of the travel documents (room confirmations, APs, DDE card, Disney Visa Rewards Card), maps, AAA guides, and my purse (yes, I know, I'm putting my small purse in a large purse... it is an organizational tactic)
4. and finally, the large brown Mickey icon bag (that also matches our luggage) that we will take into the hotel we stay at "on the road"... we don't like to take everything in to our road hotel

"I WILL stop adding stuff to our bags... I WILL stop adding stuff to our bags... I WILL stop adding stuff to our bags..."

Oh, yeah, count me in this group. I am a nervous wreck the day/night before and when we leave. I go over all my stuff, just checking it "one more time".

I also worry that something will happen to family while we are gone. With my parents and my in-laws moving on up the age ladder, it is something to think about.

However, once we get to the airport or on the road (and I've rechecked to make sure I have all the stuff in the carry on bag), I start to get better. When we pass under the WDW gates, all cares fly away!!!

I'm always a little nervous before we go anywhere, mostly worrying about making sure we have everything for everybody, and getting out of the house and to the airport on time! Once we're on the plane, I start to relax!! Have a great trip!! :)

I'm always nervous because our first flight out is on a little 20-seater that has insane weight requirements and they're notorious for having to send luggage, or even people, on later flights to ballance the load. I'm always afraid we'll be sent back home with new flights and a messed up vacation, or this trip, that they'll try to hold back my DH's ECV because of the weight. Once we're in the air though I'm good!

I get nightmares and they increase with frequencey the closer to the trip we get. Most of them revolve around getting the the airport on time and forgetting our luggage or not bringing ANY luggage. The one I had the other night about my dad (65) going with us in a wheelchair (doesn't have one) in nothing but a diaper was just a WEE bit weird! And sad. :( Poor dad.

Oh yeah, and my hubby and I tend to have the worst fights driving to WDW from the airport. He doesn't do well taking directions while driving especially when I'm not sure about where I'm going myself though somehow things are always my fault. :sad2: I have the remedy THIS time. I'M DRIVING! Once we are there and know where we are going, we're fine.

Oh yes, I get nervous, I get the nightmares, etc. I think that's common when you've anticipated something for so long.

I get all stressed out before the trip. Annual ritual the morning that we leave: BARFING. Don't know why, but it always happens. DH is used to it by now, but DS still gets a little freaked out.

I never sleep well the night before because I am worried I will sleep past the alarm and miss the flight.

41 days and counting...SPLAT!!! :teeth:

I believe its a natural occurance. I get that feeling after 35 some trips and it never ends. I thoroughly enjoy the pre-planning and Disney internetting but when the week before leaving comes around, I'm nervous as heck and would just prefer to stay home. Once on the train, I settle into my relaxed state, sit back and enjoy the ride, when we switch train in D.C. I'm really wound up by once we're on that south bound train a calm comes over me and I'm looking forward to Disney. Once on property and in our resort, I never want to leave.

We've plotted and planned, we do not do the commando style trip but more of a relaxed carefree attitude, we've seen it all by now and are coming back, and just let the magic flow. We hang at the pool alot during the heat of the day and spend some time there at night and we do hit the movies while there, something we never do at home.

I think its just everyone want the ideal, supreme, stress free vacation and after checking into trip to Disney the thoughts and ideas start growing and it is alot of money being spent. Its just not jumping into the family auto and taking off and seeing and doing whatever comes first. Its like a safari and you must plan but to us, not to excess.

I am a nervous wreck thinking that I have hyped it up too much and it wont live up to my expectations, of course it always does!

Oh yeah....count me in....I have 6 days :bounce: to go and I'm already starting to feel that excitement....the nerves will come very soon.

We'll be leaving Friday afternoon after work :drive: , and sleep in Tallahassee...I guarantee I won't sleep Friday night from the excitement...and probably Thursday night won't be very restful either.

I'll be worried that I forgot something, that the pets are all taken care of, house locked and taken care of....all the same stuff that y'all are worried about, but heck.....it's soooooo worth all of the stomach cramps!!! party:

I leave Monday and I don't know how many times I've rechecked everything in my suitcase for at WDW and my bag for the two overnight stays along the way! My family thinks I'm crazy! LOL..Yeah, I'm getting that nervous/anxious feeling of finally the time has come to leave for WDW once again! I have spent months on here and it's sad I have to depart from it for 2 weeks! LOL..But, thanks to everyone on here who has helped me in so many ways! And anyone that's gonna be down there the same time as me, I'll be looking for that lime green mickey!

We leave at 4AM on Tuesday. I have hardly packed! I have lists but only a few things in my suitcase. We have a graduation party to attend today and I'm hoping tonight I will get started.
I am a ticket checker. I will check the tickets on the way to the airport. And then I will check them again, even though I have not gotten out of the car in any way. DH laughs about it at this point.
My other problem is I am compelled to have a clean house when we leave so I don't return to a big mess. And right now I have 7 kids (my 3, my 3 nieces, and a sleepover) asleep in my downstairs so I can't clean either!
I am so excited but it's been so long since I've been down there in July (3 years) I'm afraid I'll forget something. When I took out the garbage yesterday I found that my WDW spray mister fan had broken and someone threw it in the trash. I've kept that thing around for 3 years to use again and with 3 days to go it's mysteriously broken!
You are not alone by a mile. Hope to see you all in WDW!

 EEK! I'm just waiting for that point (whenever THAT is) where I can start making that list and not look rediculous to my hubby doing it.
:bitelip: Somehow making that packing list feels one step closer. :goodvibes
