We were at WDW a few weeks ago, and the first evening we were there, we parked at the Contemporary for Chef Mickey's. Upon returning to the rental car after about 2 hours, we found quite a few ants climbing on and in the car! We got rid of them, but a couple of days later (parked at All Star Sports) we had another ant invasion! We hadn't eaten in the rental car at all, but I guess maybe a previous renter had left crumbs (and I'm sure there may have been old crumbs on the kids' carseats). Anyway, at that point we bought a small can of Raid to spray the tires with, and we had no further problems.

Not a big issue, but I really do hate ants. Am I the only one who's had an ant invasion at WDW?

Happened to us in either '98 or '01 when we went. We stayed both times at the Contemporary, so I don't remember which year it was.

How odd! It happened to us about 2-3 years ago. we had parked at AKL for the week, and when they brought our car to us, it was infested with ants. It was a nightmare! and we did not have any food in our car........

We have had it happen a few times at WDW and a few other Orlando attractions:rolleyes: Many times they invade your car looking for moisture. The two things I do is park away from any traffic islands or trees where ant homes might be and spray my tires with ant killer once a day. That has kept them away.

Have never had an ant problem at WDW, but we were warned that parking at the port for the Disney Cruise, we'd likely come back to ants. We bought a package of those little ant traps for about $2; put a few of them on the floor of our car; came back from a 7 night cruise and NO ants!!! Think I'll try that when we go to Disney World! ;)

No ants, but a lizard (Gecco)!

Hey I've had that happen to my car on occasion too!! RIGHT IN MY OWN GARAGE!! WELL, FL is "unfortunately" known for "ants"!! And, I hate them too! YUCK!

I've had them in my resort rooms on occasion as well, not fun! If you park under a tree or near an ant hill they have the tendency to trail their way into your car. Yes, I can't agree more, they are a nuisance! Not one month goes by that we don't have some sort of ant problem in our house. They're not just attracted to food but they tend to run away from water or they tend to run toward water, I know it sounds weird but that's what our pest control guy tells us. SO, WDW is no exception.

We were invaded at the YC/BC parking lot. I parked in the middle of the lot and had no food in my car. I came back after 2 days and they were swarming everywhere, even on the ceilings. It was gross!:( I had to drive to Goodings and buy a can of Raid to spray the car. Then I had to pull them out by the handful. There must have been 200 ants in that car.:scared1: :faint:
