Anyone else get a high from rope drop?

I love rope drop. I love the stress of it. I love the competition. I love feeling superior to all those reasonable people who didn't wake up before dawn like the nutcase I am. I love it all. I get a high doing that speed walking behind those cast members right at the front. I even feel a bit of a high watching videos of other people doing rope drop. If they ended up arranging some fancy schedule system that eliminated the benefits of rope drop, I would be disappointed. Anyone else feel like this? (My family laughs at me. They go along because they don't want to wait either, but they would love some alternative system.)

As for RD... what if my son speed walks behind the cast members and he gets in line, can we just slide in with him? He will be 14 and he probably can get there faster than we can.

No!! I'll leave that 'stress' to you and others that enjoy it! Not our idea of enjoying vacation. We're not far behind, but we're not stressing.

I like being there at rope drop, but not to the point that it makes me feel superior.

No thanks. We find rope drop way too crowded and stressful. We'd rather wait until later in the evening when the lines are shorter and we can do at least 2 times more than the rope droppers did in the morning.

Yes! I LOVE Rope Drop! I'm an early person by nature, so last year on our first family trip, I planned to be there at park opening, not really understanding "rope drop." I loved it and was amazed by how much we got done (during Easter week - BUSY!) We went the same week this year (Easter) and I made a believer out of my husband. Once we ended up getting to Hollywood Studios even sooner than I planned, which I felt a bit guilty about since I had to wake everyone. However, it was my husband (not a morning person) who said this is the way to do it!

I'm/we're not rope droppers either. In my case, I'm waking to an alarm about 49 weeks a year. Part of the enjoyment of a vacation to me is not forcing that upon myself while traveling. Now sometimes I happen to wake up early and arrive at a park in time for rope drop, but it definitely isn't something I try to do.

Not unless you want to get a lot of dirty looks. I'd suggest staying together and getting in line together as a group.

Nope, nope, nope. I get up at 4am at home. I'm not getting up extra early on vacation to go stand in a crowded mob while I'm still trying to wake up. No thanks. That's what FP+ is for.

We love rope drop after the rope drops. I hate the chaos of the holding pens and the stampede to the first attractions of the day - especially new headliners. We make a point of avoiding the mad dash attractions, they are always our FP rides much later in the morning.
