Usually, we go to church and when we return the Easter Bunny has hidden eggs and left a basket on the front porch while we were gone. He's an opportunist.
But stormy weather was predicted for this morning, starting early, so we were uncertain as to whether he'd be able to do his job.
We decided to go to the 8:30 service instead of the 10:00 in hopes of making it home before the rain hit. We headed home from church and DH dropped me off while he and DD make a speedy quick trip to the store to get milk. It was starting to sprinkle. Miraculously, during that brief time, the Easter Bunny hid the eggs and left a big old basket!
DD got home, spotted the basket and eggs and the hunt was on! Once we got the (plastic) eggs inside, I checked them out. We had a trespasser! A tiny slug had glommed on to one of the eggs in the short time it was outside.
I had to free that sucker.
About that time, the downpour started, so we got very lucky with our timing.
