I know it's early, but is anyone else hoping to go to HHI during mid-March, 2005? We just reserved our airline flights last night (frequent flier miles-they're pretty hard to get, so we had to grab them early) and we can't wait! But now we have to wait until the 7 month window and hope we can get ressies there! Next year will be our third trip, we seem to enjoy it more each time we go. Anyone else?

Ooh, that's an idea Simba's Mom. Our DD's spring break will be the week before Easter and I know I don't want to go to WDW then. Have you gone before in March? How's the weather? We've never been to HH.

Two years ago we went in mid-March. The weather was a little cool for the beach we thought, but since you're from up north, you might be OK (speaking from DH's experience-he's from Illinios). It was perfect weather for biking. Also, the miniature golf courses were uncrowded. Chance of rain can be very variable-the week we went it didn't rain at all until the day we left. But then I heard from DISers who checked in that day that the rain continued for all of that week.

Thanks, Simba's Mom. I looked in the guidebook before you posted again and it listed highs in the 70's and lows in the 50's with 4 something inches of rain. Sounds like nice golfing weather if you can dodge the raindrops. Wonder if the rain is typically downpours or if that rain is spread out through days and days as it sounds like happened the week after you were there?

We went at the end of March last year and although it was chilly the day we arrived, it warmed up enough to enjoy the pool and the beach. We wore light jackets at night and the crisp night air made the campfire singalong all the more fun. The kids wouldn't have cared if it was chilly all week and raining because the pool is heated and that's where they wanted to be all day. Luckily, we got a 2 bdrm that overlooked the pool and although it was chilly, my kids and DH all agree that it was one of our all time favorite vacations! In March, we looked at it as more of an adventure to a new destination, instead of a week at the beach!

(PS, if they still offer the "marsh walk" sign up and take the kids, my kids loved it! Mucking in the mud in the boots they provided, picking up crabs and not getting in trouble! Heaven to them and they learned alot too!)

Have fun!

We were there this year from March 14 - 19. We were very fortunate and had great weather. We were concerned because our school vacation the past two years was in April, and we had great weather those two times. Our weather this year was mostly in the 70's, 2 days it did hit to the 80's, and just one cloudy day. We really lucked out. The funny thing was we actually had better weather and warmer temperatures than they had the April week that we normally have off. You never know!
