When you brush your teeth, only with certain toothpastes, it actually burns your gums and inside mouth, causing such discomfort making it so hard to brush. Almost causing blisterlike discomfort. :confused3 I find that I have to switch to another toothpaste to be able to brush. Not sure exactly what brand it is, because it doesnt happen too often and by the time it happens again, I have forgotten which one I used the last time. :confused3 . It started happening with my 10 year old to the point that she was crying. :guilty: Because I experienced it first I knew right away it was the toothpaste. And once we switched she began to feel better. Anyone?

Sounds like an allergic reaction to something in the toothpaste. I would figure out which one it is and write it down someplace and ask your dentist about it.

DH gets this. The skin peels in his mouth when he uses certain toothpastes and it causes sores.

Do you and your daughter happen to grind your teeth? My hygenist said I grind, and that I am wearing away the enamel on my teeth. If I wear it down too much, she said that they will become sensitive, and I will probably have to switch to a toothpaste for sensistive teeth.

This has happened to me, too. I read somewhere that the ingredient sodium laureth sulfate can cause it.
