We are usually deluxe resort kind of people but with the fantastic dining discount we couldn't resist and we are staying at POP. I am finding myself very excited about trying POP...

What usually happens when we schedule a trip we start off with a moderate and I struggle and struggle until I eventually upgrade to a deluxe... Not this time though. I have NO DESIRE to upgrade my package... I am pleasantly surprised how content I am with my decision... It must be because I know I am getting a GREAT deal.... Secretly I hope I really like a value so I don't have to the spend the money on deluxes anymore.... We drive to the parks anyway so the whole bus factor is not an issue...

Anyone else excited about their stay at POP?

To be honest we upgraded to CSR since we have lots of family with us now - 4 rooms total and we came to the conclusion that everyone would be content if we stayed in the middle (moderate) so we chose CSR.

That said, if it was just DH, myself and 3yr old dd, we would have been at the POP in a heartbeat. I almost want to pool hop there one day - just to go have some casual family fun, it looks that cool to us - no flames I am just kidding, no pool hopping. Seriously though, stick w/ your decision. It is a no brainer to get the value for the free dining plan. Splurge on a car though so you can drive to lots of places to eat.

When we decided to go to Pop last October we were both extremely excited! Why? We were going to Disney! We had a fantastic price, and we knew we were going to have a blast on a little bit of money! We did exactly that! Pop does have some pluses to it that the deluxes don't, like the icee machine (which worked perfectly while we were there) and the huge food court.

Enjoy your trip! I think you'll have a great time! Pop is tres cute!

We are! :Pinkbounc We are! :bounce:

This will be our 3rd stay in a value, but our first at POP. From what I hear, it sounds like a great place to stay!!

We also only stay in deluxes but when I got a quote for POP I could not resist and told my 13 year old and he said "no way" and said I do not want to go to Disney if we stay at POP . I created a Resort Snob :sad2:. We stayed at Coronodo once and he didnt like that either even though I loved it.

I still want to stay at POP and may still change it over to it because the price would be the same as staying at deluxe but includes Dining for 7 days.

When you come back, I will look forward to your thoughts on the Pop. :cool1:

I can't wait for our first POP stay in 2 months. We walked around the resort last feb and we all loved it!

I don't even care what decade I'll be in, we loved them all.

We will be at POP 10/3 --10/11 and YES we are excited! Any day in Disney is better than a day not in Disney. We did All Stars/ Movies about 4 years ago. I would rather stay longer in a value than a "quickie" in a better hotel room. Add in the free dining  and I am one HAPPY lady!

I created one of those too!! My oldest DD (10) did not like the thought of staying at Pop. She kept making little comments about no pool slide, crappy small room. I could have choked her. :sad2: I couldn't believe she was acting like that.

Then we went to Pop, in April, and she loved it. Our whole family did!! We really saw no huge differences between it, and the moderates we have stayed in.

Heading back in December. This time w/ 2 rooms, since my mom is joining us. Hoping for a discount, or special deal. I have thrown around the idea, of getting a moderate resort, since she is joining us, but then changed my mind. It is December, so really not much swimming, and our meals are planned out, so we don't need an onsite table restaurant. We will have a rental car, so bussing is really not an issue. SO YES...

WE ARE EXCITED ABOUT POP

At least DH, and I are. The kids don't know yet. :rolleyes1

We stayed at BWV in Jan 2004, we LOVED it!!!!! We said we wouldnt be going back until Oct 2006 b/c we wanted to stay BWV and its expensive, BUT then this great deal came out, so we booked POP and are BEYOND excited!!!!!!! We cant wait :cool1: :cool1:

We are going to stay at POP the last week of sept. I am a mod to deluxe sort of gal. I am taking my DGC x3. I am so excited about the meal deal and trying someplace new. :Pinkbounc

We've already been to Pop twice and we're going back in September. And yes, I'm very excited to be going back there, I think it's a great resort. Lots of fun, great CMs, clean rooms!

We'll be trying POP last week in Sept. We prevoiosly stayed in Ft. Wilderness cabins & Carribean Beach Resort..We picked POP so we could get 2 adjoining rooms..Bringing 2 x-tra kids this year..Wife's disapointed because she likes Hot tubs @ moderate resors but overall we are lookin forward to our stay.We can't wait to hit the icee machine..maybe we'll add a little rum for the adult icee's!

I too am a hot tub snob, but we have stayed at Pop twice, just 5 days total, and we're there for DH's Extravagant Birthday Trip II! It took the free dining plan, and then a Ding fare from SWA to hook me in, but we're back for Sept 16 returning to New England late on the 19th. We're very excited!

I just returned from a wonderful stay at the POP! We have always stayed at Deluxes, so of course I was a bit apprehensive about staying at a Value. I totally loved it. Loved the food court... a nice variety and huge portions (couldn't finish any meal there...a lot of food) The only thing I missed was the interior corridors to the rooms when it was raining, other than that, I thought the resort was whimsical and really fun. We will be returning there for our Christmas vacation. Bus transportation was quick (except at MK.... ALL the resorts were backed up the night at park closing)..never waited except once.... just lucky I guess.

My DH is excited to stay there. He didn't accompany me for this trip. I really thought the loud theming would detract from my visit, but actually I think the decor enhanced the stay. Clean rooms! Loved it! :goodvibes

We are! :wave2:
Our first trip we stayed at the cabins, which we adored, but we have too many kids now, so we are looking forward to 2 rooms at Pop (and 2 bathrooms, lol)
We don't worry about buses, b/c nothing can be as complicated as the Fort. Wilderness buses, and we still loved those.
Only 62 more days! :jumping1: :cheer2:

We did a split stay in January at WL and AKL and loved it. I knew I was taking my younger son and his wife in Sept, so when I went solo in May I kept telling myself that since I had four trips planned this year that it only made since to do the May trip at POP amd save some money. The more I looked at those huge icons I thought no way, I just couldn't do it. I wound up staying two nights at POP, then rented DVC points for BWV for five nights, then back to POP for two more nights. I was shocked at just how much I liked POP. It was really cute, the CMs are the friendliest I've seen, and it was fun just walking aound and looking at the icons. Also POP is the only place I've gotten towel animals. When I came back I was so excited about POP that my D-I-L suggested we stay there for our Sept trip. I had planned to book at WL or POFQ for them. Instead we're getting free dining and looking forward to POP. I'm going back solo in Dec and will probaly spend the weekends at POP again and rent DVC points for Sun-Thurs like I did in May. The only reason I'll be renting the points though is because I love the Epcot area and being able to walk to Epcot and MGM, otherwise I'd be at POP the full time.

We normally stay at the deluxes also; every time I've made a ressie at one of the moderates, I end up changing it to a deluxe! However, this year, I've decided to trade the great locations and the pool slides for the convenience of two connecting rooms. I think I'll end up killing a kid if I hear one more fight over the tv; two rooms at a value would definitely be cheaper than a murder charge. We weren't planning on going to WDW this year, but I also can't pass up that free dining package. Also, I would love to do MNSSHP again. It will seem a bit odd to be doing Halloween in Sept., but it works. :flower:
I'll see some of you there the last week in Sept.

We will be at POP 9/3-9/10. We've never been to WDW, I am so excited ! The resort looks like so much fun, I can't wait to walk around and see everything. Normally we would stay at SOG, but could not resist the free dining and ME...and I am glad, can enjoy POP w/o guilt.

:thewave:

They'll be seven of us there in September. We can't wait!!!!!!!!!!! 95 days and counting!!!!! :jumping1:
