Anyone else @ DL last night?

They canceled "Remember" and I was wondering if anyone knew why.

it was cancelled due to the winds in the area which make it unsafe for Tinkerbelle to fly as well as being unable to ensure the embers from the fireworks come down safely and not in any area that would harm a guest.

You could tell how windy it was by watching the flags on the castle fly, sometimes at a 90 degree angle to the pole. With the flames and sparklers that are part of the show, the safest thing to do was cancel.

What amazed me was the number of people at City Hall complaining about the cancellation and wanting their money back! It was nice to hear one CM take the guests ticket, go to the back with it and come back to the guest and say that their ticket showed they entered the park at 9:07 am and used their tickets for fast passes on 6 different attractions during the day. The guy quickly shut up and grabbed his tickets back!

While I'm disappointed the fireworks were cancelled, I am supportive of the decision that is made by the Anaheim Fire Department and the Safety experts at Disney.

I thought that might be why. Since we have already seen the show a few times, we decided to go on some rides instead.

I can't believe the nerve of some people asking for their money back!

Were they really canceled, or did they end up going later. I was sure I heard the fireworks at 10:15-10:30 pm. Around 10 pm I realized I hadn't heard them, and about 15 minutes later I started hearing fireworks. Since that's usually the one ones that go off I figured it was there. Maybe they had some going off at the stadium last night.

I was at Guest services when they opened Rocket Rods. They closed the line down about and hour before park closing because the line was over 3 hours long. This lady was in there crying and sobbing that she wanted to be taken to the front of the line because she had come that day only to ride that ride, but didn't want to wait in a 3 hour line so she was waiting until right before the park closed to get in line. They refused to let her in the line.

Well, also they had a fire earlier in the week, I saw a post about it on Mouseplanet, so I am sure that there had to be some modifications to when the cancel it made in order to accomodate for more safety.

On Thursday night at about 9:00 p.m. they announced that they MAY be cancelling the fireworks due to winds. We were watching the flags and saw only a gentle breeze. One of our traveling companions is from Pensacola and just recovered from Ivan and rode through Dennis and she said, "You wanna see WIND?" LOL! At about 9:15 they made an announcement that the conditions improved and the fireworks would go on as planned.

Friday night they announced that due to winds at high elevations the show was cancelled. We DID stay for the 10:30 p.m. Fantasmic and perhaps that is the fireworks that a poster mentioned hearing later in the evening.

Wow, I was there on 7/22, and I didn't know they'd been cancelled. If I had, I would have been so upset-at myself! It was such a long, hot day, I left about 8:30, even though I really wanted to stay for the fireworks. But I was so tired! Looks like I made a good decision for once.

The fireworks that were heard at 10:15-10:30pm would have been from Angel Stadium. It's always "Big Bang Friday's" during the season. Because they shoot them off from the parking lot, they don't have to worry as much about winds over there.

The DL fireworks were cancelled both Friday and Saturday night due to "high upper level winds". We waited around both nights for them...

Luckily, we had been able to see them on Wednesday night with the 50th Anniversary tour. It was such an awesome show that I wanted to see it every night. I love Tinkerbell and she is amazing!
