I just subscribed to Tour Guide Mike. I am not happy with it. It does have lots of articles full of info, unfortunately, I know the stuff in the articles already. It wasn't what I thought it was going to be.

Has anyone ever gotten a refund from them?

Really? I love TGM and even though I've been to WDW many, many times I find his advice, schedules and up to date info invaluable. It can be tricky navigating all the info at first. Have you checked out his forums? The trip reports are especially helpful. I'm sure if you really wanted a refund Mike would give it to you if you emailed him. He is a great guy and I'm sure will stand behind his product. And yes, I have been to WDW during the busiest times of year and have never waited in line more than 15 min. for an attraction.

Nope, I love his site! I've used it twice already for trips!

No, not at all. I love it. Great info.

If you want a refund, just ask.

Mike will give a refund if you ask him.
That said I have found TGM to be well worth the money. You do need to have time to read the articles and digest for yourself the information you need to suit you. I was initially very hesitant that I had wasted my money but I soon changed my mind. If you spend some time navigating the site I am sure you will find it worthwhile. I have visited many Disney boards to research for our trips and I still find info on TGM that I have not found any where else.

I love this site. Just posted on another thread about it. However, its hard to know what 'you know',, so if you think there is no new information in the site, then ask for a refund. I just read on a thread in the TGM forums there is no time limit to ask for your money back. If you are not happy, then you should ask for the refund, IMHO.

BTW, how many guide books would offer this do you think? I guess the equivalent is thumbing through a book at the book store to see if you want it... but how many bookstores would allow you to take the book home, read it for a month, and then let you take it back?

JMHO

I subscribed to TGM in 2004 and was disappointed - I received a prompt refund. In Feb. of 2005, I was planning another trip and decided to look at it again and resubscribed. After giving the site a thourough look through, I was hooked but skeptical. We were in WDW June 1-6 and our longest wait was 10 minutes!
We had been to WDW about 15 times and my DH said this was by far the least stressful trip. We're going back May 30-June 5 and I will again use TGM because he has all the most up to date info.

I wasn't impressed with the site at all - it seemed I got the info here before that site (and for free!) and I really thought I was going to be getting more of a specialized itinerary or at least a recommendation of where to go when. Oh well.

Once I got done weeding through and finding the articles that pertained to me I loved it.

I'm going to be using his advice about where to be and how to tour in October when I go back. And I can't wait!

I just subscribed to TGM and am very happy with the info I have read so far. In my case, I have been to Disney 18 times, but have never had a plan...just went into the parks and started picking rides we wanted to hit. If the line was too long, I went to a different one.

The information he provides is a little bit of common sense mixed with a lot of his personal experiences. He is in the parks almost every day. He makes tour plans for his VIP tours and knows what to see and when. If you already know which days are busiest and why, and you already know which lines get longest quickest and you already have a plan of which rides to hit in what order, then TGM will be less helpful to you. I knew none of that...so his information will be invaluable to me in the future.

I do think he needs to re-design his site....it is the worst layout I can imagine....there have been numerous times where I read an article or a link, then go to find it later and it takes 20 minutes or so to find it.

He does state that he has a money back guarantee....if you are truely not satisfied, then by all means contact him about it.

Even though I'm a pretty seasoned traveler to the World, I just subscribed and have picked up quite a few tips that I think will be helpful for our trip in December.

But I have a question. When does my access to the site end? Is there stuff I can always get to, will my particular schedules disappear when I make my trip? I probably should have read the small print! :confused3

Thanks for you input everyone. I already have the Unofficial Guide and have gotten so much info from this site too. Before I read your replies, I e-mailed for a refund. I guess I thought that I was getting a touring plan already made up for me. I didn't realize I's have to stift though all the articles etc.

Joy, I thought the same thing and was less than happy. Let us know how the refund request turned out.

Please fill me in...What exactly is Tour Guide Mike? What kind of information does he give?

thanks

You can get to Tourguide Mike by the following

www.tourguidemike.com

He will give you SAMPLE plans on how to visit the parks pertaining how you fill out a questionaire.

He explains when to visit an attraction and why. Many people are happy on how to relieve your children's fears on some of the rides that maybe scary to them.

Mike also explains on how to have a good vacation.

I have never been to WDW but have been to Disnelyand many times. I signed up and I found his site invaluable. True, it takes time to sort through the information but it is well worth it.

Step 6 of the Itineary planning lists sample tours for each park, both for EMH and non-EMH days, and for families with and without young children. The site can take time to get used to, but the information is there. I have printed these park tours a brought them with me to WDW. Worth every penny. :earsgirl:

It ends 60 days after your trip...I couldn't remember if it was 60 days after the beginning or the end of the trip. But as it turns out, Mike sends you a "farewell" email.

When I first joined TGM I didn't like it either. But after I spent alot of time searching through all of the info I really liked it. I am still planning my trip and think that it will be worth it in the end.

I used TGM when we took our first winter trip to WDW. We had gone plenty of times in the summer, but I felt a little unsure of how to plan in the winter because of the shortened hours. I thought it was great.

I have to say, at first, I found his site informative, but tough to navigate. I, too, would find something interesting and then take 20 minutes to find it again. I'm in the middle of planning our first family trip to the world and really like the itinerary template. As I find articles that pertain to my trip (like where to stand and when to go to parades, shows, fireworks...), I write the info on my most recent printing of the itinerary and then print a new one.
