I think it is a great bag, but the quality is not as nice as the ones from the parks. I bought one, but i am disappointed in the quality. Too bad too, it has such a nice embroidered logo on it. Anyone else disapointed?

I'm reserving judgement on the quality. The fabric is different, doesn't feel as nice, but it may actually hold up better. We have not had problems with our large bags from the parks, but I have heard other people say that they have not held up well.

I think you certainly get a lot of pages for the price. I like the zippered pages better than the velcro pages.

Drawbacks:
1. Where's the shoulder strap ??? This is the biggest flaw that I see.
2. No extra mesh pockets for supplies or spare pins. Not even those insert pockets inside the covers for pens or pin cards or note paper.

I was very disappointed in the bag from TDS. I bought one on Saturday and returned it on Sunday! It is very cheesy (and no, I didn't spill cheese soup on it!) and I thought poorly made. I decided to put the money toward another bag from WDW :)

I don't miss the shoulder straps too much, but I do wish it had more mesh bags and its size was larger. I bought one but just gave it to my son for his little collection.

I like the book, but I don't like the idea of having the spaces numbered. It just seems to me that both items were designed only for the 100 yr pins!

I like the size. I miss the shoulder strap and the mesh pockets.

I like the new bag, I thought the price was right for the amount of pins it will hold. The quality is a bit lower, but so is the price. The only negative I have is when you pick it up by the handles the weight of the pins make the pages bunch up at the spine of the bag. I don't know why they didn't make it so when you pick it up the pages don't hang like they do with the other bags? ...Just a thought... I got the book too, I really like how they have numbered squares for each pin. They look nice and tidy that way!

I bought one (and a binder). I have looked it over briefly and kept it in the bag. I wanted to buy them while I had the 20% off. I think I will keep the binder. (I haven't torn off the shrinkwrap though.)
I'm still debating about the bag. I have the larger one. And often I don't have much in it. So the small one may be nice.
I miss the shoulder handles. BUT I have an extra pair of detachable shoulder strap handles from a fanny pack. Right now I have those straps on one of my pin binders.
I like the zipper pouches better than the velcro, in the large bag.
I also miss the see through mesh pouches.
Overall, for the price (minus the 20%) it's not bad. I paid $48 for my large one! I thought that was high. But I use it and glad I have it.
The design is very nice on both. And I can't say that I like one material over the other.
It's hard to beat that outside design!! :smooth:

I thought I remember someone mentioning a new medium pin bag just recently available at WDW.

If so, can someone who had seen/owns it post a description and price?

I'd be interested in a comparison to the new TDS bag:
Dimensions
Number of pages
Zippered or velcro
Shoulder strap yes/no
Mesh pockets yes/no

Thanks. :)

RobYn, I just got back from WDW on Sunday and there were no new bags, just the large one and the backpacks.

The bag from TDS is my first, so I have nothing to compare it to. I have about a dozen pins that I purchased beginning 2 years ago, as well as the first 8 pins from the new series, and I put those on the pages yesterday. They look pretty neat!

Now I'm hallucinating new pin bags.

Please, someone tell me that there was mention somewhere of a new pin bag at some park ???

I know I don't mean the one that was available at the Epcot pin event. That was a small bag.

Anyone remember seeing this somewhere ? :(

When we were in DL in May, they were selling a small pin bag. I looked, but not closely. I am pretty sure it was the same price as what TDS is now selling. Other than a different front design, my guess is they are probably the same.

When we were at the pin event in August they had the small bag with the event logo at the store in the center of the World Showplace.

We did go to WoD, but I didn't see any medium bags there except the new backpack bag.

Curiouser and curiouser . . .

---what you're no doubt thinking of is the return of the old bag, but at a lower price. I've seen them recently in WOD, I want to say, somewhere in the neighborhood of $38. Someone please enlighten me if this is not correct.......

I've heard that the difference between this "new" WDW bag and the older one is the fabric exterior, that is, different fabrics.......having neither bag, we can't offer an opinion either way on either bag.

For my kids, the backpacks are perfect.......just "their size", so they can carry their own pins......their mama's no fool.....:D

Hope this helps,

Christy

I got one because it's cute, but I really don't like it. the pages are on the wrong side (or the handle is on the wrong side. The pages should hang down when carrying it by the handle. Does anyone out there understand what I'm saying? I have the old bag and it's made much nicer. The new bag is a good value. Robyn, I too saw that there was a new pin bag in WDW and hopefully I can get that on my next trip in 4 weeks. I have the large old bag, the pin backpack and am using the new DS bag to carry my extras in the zippered sections instead of putting the pins on the pages. I think it makes a nice carry bag. I like getting different bags because it helps me to remember what's in what bag.

I did not buy a TDS pin bag. I did, however, buy a binder & thought it was not as well put together as the binders I have purchased at WDW. Just another opinion ...

Twice in one day, DaisyCrazy has baled me out! :D

The revamped WDW large bag for $38 is the one I read about. So, I'm not as crazy as I thought . . . am I ?

Of course, I don't need another big bag. I need another small-medium bag to carry traders to meets. I've bought two medium bags from a non-Disney site and have been very pleased. Only one problem . . . they're out of stock on all the medium and small bags. :(

Oh, well. I could always go back to carrying pins in my craft box.

A person I know whos a CM at the store I go to, was wondering how you can take the pages out of the pin bag without ruining the whole bag so she can use it to carry things?

Any ideas?

NancyIL!!!

Nice to see you posting here on the "other" CB. So...you've become a pin collector. Welcome to the madness....I mean the hobby!! :D

I love your blooming Rose.
